Recap

The series premiere of Ordinary Joe introduces us to the premise of the show where Joe Kimbreau must choose between three different paths after college graduation.

He can join his family for a celebration dinner, where he'll be talked into becoming a cop, join his BFF with benefits, Jenny, at the lake, or he can ask Amy, this beautiful girl, he literally bumped into at graduation, on a date. Any of these choices will alter his life.

He didn't choose just one and over the course of  Episode 1, we see what happens to Joe in each of these timelines. In the first timeline, Joe is a beat cop. He saves a local politician's life and his life changes.

His world has been all about his career and he hasn't had time for romance, but he gets interested in doing the press conference when he realizes he might run into Amy again since that was her passion. He does, and they agree to meet up at their college reunion.

In rockstar Joe's world, everything seemed happy. He'ssuccessful and wealthy and married to Amy, who has a successful career as a promoter for politicians. But no one sees how hard they are trying to have a baby and how it's affecting their relationship.

At the reunion, Jenny reveals a bombshell that could affect everyone's lives.

In the third reality, Joe is a nurse and works nights. Nurse Joe was able to save the man that cop Joe shot while saving the politician. He's married to Jenny, but they have been separated since she's tired that they don't talk anymore.

They finally do talk about how much he hates his career and seem more like themselves at the reunion.
