Jessica is walking late at night when a moving vehicle comes straight for her.

It flashes back to weeks prior. Jeff tried to talk Jessica out of taking the job with Bobby, but she refuses. They disagrees about it, and she wants information that Jeff may have about Bobby and his associates.

No one at the office wants Jessica there. They don't trust her, especially Keri. There is tension between the women because Keri is the one who took Jessica's license to practice law.

Everyone warns Bobby off having Jessica. She dropped her lawsuit against the city by her.aunt in exchange for the position in Hopes she could fo more.Angela, her cousin, finds out about it and it makes her trust Jessica less.

Jessica offers to help a patient of Angela's who is participating in a hunger strike to save the inner city high school from being shut down.

She takes it to Bobby and he assigns her to a transit case instead. She fixes both to show her how skilled she is. She knows he's working with the shady Pat, and rbqt he has something on Bobby.

Pat is not pleased about Jessica's presence. Neither is Bobby's half brother a former cop now on security detail.

Keri is annoyed that Jessica is burning through their allies with her bulldozer tactics. She let's Jessica know she has more fight in her than Jessica thinks.

we find out she is Bobby's mistress.

Jeff leaves Jessica to take a break and to help on a case in Miami for a few months.

He leaves her a file that reveals Nick, Bobby's half brother killed an innocent.
