Finch uses Carter, Shaw, and Zoe as bait, believing that Murphy is a killer. Turns out, the father of his former love is attempting to have him killed. Also, he is raising Murphy's son.

Murphy reunites with his son and offers a potential future romance with Carter.

Root, with the help of the Machine, shoots the government agent sent to kill her and escapes the psych ward.

Finch receives Roots number from the Machine right before and arrives right after she escapes.
