Recap

Ralph Angel, Nova, and Micah go through old videotapes of Ernest and the family.

Violet asks after Joaquin's mother. He claims she is fine, but Joaquin is clearly hiding something.

Roy Miller (rep at the local USDA) at the bank is losing the black farmer's paperwork for the mortgage extensions, including the one for Ms. Parthena, so they can foreclose on the properties. Darla and Billie meet with Miller, and he says they have 48 hours to come up with $25K to stop the foreclosure. Another employee secretly tells them to get it in sooner because Miller has already contacted the Sheriff's office.

At the grocery store, Billie continues to dodge Vince's phone calls. Parker is in the store and notices Billie avoiding the calls. She tells Billie her name is Imani and advises her to call Vince and rip off the band-aid. Later, at the town council meeting, Billie realizes that Imani is really Parker Campbell, Sam Landry's daughter.

The town council meets to decide on a proposal from Landry Enterprises to develop an outlet mall on their land, which would mean overturning the historical landmark. Both Nova and Parker speak at the meeting. The council claims that after Covid, St. Jo's needs the jobs that the outlet mall would bring and votes in favor of moving the remains of the Thibodaux massacre and building the mall.

Mo encourages Nova to stage an event on the land as a protest.

Micah submits his photographs to the Ivory NFT art show through a man named Zane. Micah makes $10K on his first sale, but Zane reminds him that he's only as good as his last sale.

Hollywood and Violet help Prosper turn The Real Spot into a Jamaican-themed restaurant for Prosper and Sandy's first date.

The Sheriff comes to foreclose on Ms. Parthena's property at night. They tell her she has to leave. They take her stuff and tell her the rest will be put up for auction.

Queen Sugar Season 7 Episode 2 Quotes

Mo: The seeds remember the land they came from.
Nova: My mother used to tell us about how girls would braid rice and okra into their hair when they were stolen from Africa to remember home.
Mo: Yeah, lots of African plants and crops are here in the Americas because of those women.

Being real has never gone out of style.
