Abby learned that she was not part of the clinical trial and decided to end her life on her own terms. Ray was against this and reeled Avi and Lena in on a plan to poison one of the other patients. 

While in New York, Abby sends Terry to get the medication again after Ray gets rid of it and they get ready to end her life. 

Avi is arrested for trying to buy heroin and Ray has to go to the doctor to get the poison himself. The doctor puts up a fight so Ray attacks her and takes the medication. 

He poisons Smitty and returns home to the news that Abby is back on the trial. However, Bridget reveals that Abby is dead. 

Ray goes crazy and attacks everyone in the bar and is arrested while Terry and Mickey are taken to the hospital.
