Rizzoli & Isles Season 7 Episode 9 comes in on the tail end of a case. The team is about to go to trial to convict a man who broke into a house and murdered a couple at knifepoint two years ago. However, their only evidence is a blood stain on a cutting board. Just as they are about to leave for court, they find out that the evidence has been stolen.

The judge grants the prosecution 65 hours to find the missing evidence. If it isn't found, she will dismiss the case.

The team races against the clock. They find out that someone built a tunnel into the evidence room and logged into a security camera remotely so they could see what code others were punching in on the keypad. They also find that a contractor who worked on the building used the fake identity of someone who had been in an accident. This leads to the arrest of a suspect, Donna.

Donna doesn't tell them much but her ring is made of a rare jewel so that leads the detectives down another line of inquiry. Meanwhile, the evidence they need has been destroyed, but can they find new evidence in time for the trial?
