We start with Andy and Luke in bed, seemingly doing very well, only for Andy to sneak out. She later makes up an excuse about wanting to sleep at home.

As for the case of the week, it involves a break-in. Andy and Nash are on the scene, speaking to the woman and sticking around in case the robber comes back. But Tracy gets a call about her son needing to be picked up at school. She leaves, with Andy's permission.

Soon enough, the burglar is back: it's the woman's drug addict son, and he's been in the basement the whole time. Andy draws her gun on him, but she sees she forget to load it. As the 22-year old pulls his own weapon on his step-father, Andy tried to talk him out of it by telling him she can relate to tough parenting: she hasn't seen her mother in 14 years. Swarek soon swoops in and tackles the kid.

Tracy, meanwhile, gets her son, realizes how hard it will be to juggle life as a mother and life as a cop, and gets berated at the scene for leaving Andy. But later in the episode, Andy is told by Swarek that you must always cover for your partner and she stands up for Tracy with the boss.

In another storyline, Diaz is freaking out about proposing to his girlfriend, Denise. He's been with her for seven years, but is afraid. Epstein doesn't help the matter, saying they should both be single and playing the field together. As luck would have it, their investigation involves going undercover at a wedding, where they nab a trio of thieves.

The episode concludes with a look at Denise, as she meets her man and his friends at the bar. She's smokin! Epstein is speechless upon seeing her.
