Recap

At Chateau Picard, Picard points out that the bullet holes in the wall are the ones his family told stories about. They discuss the prophecy Agnes/Borg queen left.

Tallinn seems to have an idea. She transports them all back to her apartment in LA. Raffi, Rios, and Seven plan to hit Soong’s house to stop him. Tallinn plans to transport into NASA to protect Renée. At the last second, Picard steps into her transport.

The Europa mission is preparing to launch. Tallinn is shocked that Picard joined her. He tries to convince her not to sacrifice herself to ensure Renée’s success. She reminds him that he can’t save her and that she doesn’t need saving.

At Soong’s house, Seven, Raffi, and Rios discover Adam is not there. Seven contacts Picard who sees Soong arriving at the launch. The three at the house find four drones Soong has programmed to target the shuttle if he’s unable to prevent Renée from boarding. Raffi’s unable to stop the drones from launching.

Tallinn acquires a uniform to get past security.

Soong leverages his donations to get access to the astronauts.

Tallinn finds Renée. Renée knows that she’s not part of the mission and demands to know who she is.

Soong feigns disgust at the administrator’s amazement at the launch’s reality and leaves her.

Tallinn comes clean with Renée, and shares her experiences protecting her throughout her life to gain her trust.

The drones initiate and launch. Raffi rushes to gain manual control.

Picard watches Soong from a distance. Tallinn makes a last pitch to Renée.

Renée rushes out of the room right into Soong’s path, pleading for help. He leads her away.

Raffi gets manual override control of one drone. Rios pilots it to destroy the other three.

Renée starts to feel unwell. Soong assures her it won’t be long. He poisoned her with a neurotoxin. He leaves.

Renée stumbles to Picard who realizes it’s Tallinn disguised as Renée. She’s dying. They watch the launch together. Tallinn tells him to absolve himself, the guilt isn’t worth it. She’s glad she got to meet and talk to Renée. She dies.

At Soong’s house, the lab is trashed. The news is broadcasting the real Renée, safe and alive and on her way with the mission. Adam is drinking and breaking more things in frustration. He notices activity on his computer monitor and starts to panic as his files start being deleted. Kore sits in a public library with her VR headset and purges his database.

With the purge complete, Adam hangs his head and opens a drawer. He pulls out a file labeled “Project Khan.”

Kore receives a message on her computer: “Curious what’s next? Watch and observe.” An address appears. When she arrives, Wesley Crusher approaches her and offers her a position as a Supervisor. She accepts and they transport away together.

Rios collects up all the 24th century tech he can find. Seven and Raffi discuss whether they were successful in securing the future. Rios invites them to LA and goes to check on Theresa and Ricardo. Seven and Raffi have a talk about their situation. Seven kisses her.

Picard finds the loose brick in the wall where he found the key to his mother’s room as a boy and replaces the key behind it for the future. As he does, he hears Q’s voice and follows it to the conservatory. They talk over the implications of trying to change the future and why Q has done all this for Picard.

Q promises one last surprise. Picard returns to the group. They walk out into the woods where Q greets them. Raffi grabs him, but he says that he plans to use his last bit of lifeforce to send them home.

Rios decides to stay. He says he’s home with Theresa and Ricardo. Q comments that the surprise decision may result in some surplus energy and a gift of sorts.

He bids Picard farewell, and Picard embraces him.

Q snaps his fingers and Picard returns to the Stargazer at the moment of the battle with the masked Borg queen. Seven is on the bridge too.

He realizes the music playing is the song he told Jurati about, “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien.” He cancels the self-destruct. He orders the officers to stand down and allow the queen to do what she’s intent on doing. He explains the song has meaning and addresses the queen as “Doctor.” The queen unmasks and it is Jurati.

Raffi walks onto the bridge, disoriented as she was on the Excelsior when they were first zapped into the Wake-Up World. She sees Jurati. Picard asks why the Borg need control of the ship.

The helm reports a massive spike in neutrino emissions. She also notices that Captain Rios is missing. Seven reports the galactic event forming in the center of the quadrant is about to expel a huge amount of energy that’ll destroy the sector.

Jurati reports the only way to save the sector is to harmonize the fleet shields with the Borg’s. The other ships try to hail the Stargazer. Picard offers Seven a field commission command of the ship. She orders the fleet to allow the queen access to their ships and to not resist.

Jurati organizes the ships in a grid formation around the Borg ship and harmonizes the shields. The gap in the shield is the Excelsior and Raffi orders them to realign their harmonics. When she asks for acknowledgement, Elnor appears on screen, alive and well. Q’s gift to them.

The galactic event occurs but the shields hold, protecting all the planets in the sector. In the aftermath the anomaly forms into an unusual transwarp conduit. Although the Borg do not know who or what created the conduit, they recognize it is a potential threat to the sector. They request provisional membership in the Federation so that they can guard and watch the conduit.

Back on earth, Picard and the gang are in Ten Forward. Guinan debriefs the time adventure with Picard and points out a picture of Raffi and Theresa she’s had behind the bar since she opened. She tells him how they lived out their lives. Ricardo grew up and used the organism Renée found on the Europa mission to heal the oceans and clean the sky.

Picard toasts them all and heads home to the Chateau where Laris has had the conservatory restored as a farewell gift to him. He asks her for a second chance and they reconcile.

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Episode 10 Quotes

I understand. I've seen the heart of this in you, but other people's lives aren't up to you. And their deaths aren't your fault. Not mine if it comes. Not your mother's. That's a fantasy, Jean-Luc. Can't control who we lose, and we can't spare ourselves the pain of it. Other people's choices are their own to make, and this one is mine. I don't need saving. I never have.

Tallinn

Picard: I won't let you sacrifice yourself!
Tallinn: You won't let me? It's not up to you. This is my life. You don't get to stop me from fulfilling my purpose because you're scared I'm gonna die. My fate is not yours to decide.
