Recap

Stardate 607125.6

Hologram Janeway observes that the first contact failure has damaged the crew's morale and sense of team. She uses the holodeck to conduct team-building activities. It doesn't go well.

Dal admits to Janeway that they aren't Starfleet cadets. Zero stays behind to explain.

Drednok and The Diviner receive Nandi's information on the Protostar. With the coordinates, The Diviner plans to send them a message since they're too far to catch up to.

On the Protostar, the vehicle replicator is remotely activated and creates some sort of machine.

Gwyn and Pog observe an approaching tachyon storm. When Gwyn mentions the storm might affect gravity, Pog rushes to the protodrive because gravity is what keeps it stable.

With Janeway on hand to help, the drive emits a burst that sweeps through the crew.

Janeway's analysis shows that she and Pog are the only lifeforms onboard. Pog tries to fix the drive but the ship explodes.

Janeway recoalesces on the bridge. She finds Rok-Tahk hiding in the mess hall. Janeway explains a time anomaly is affecting the ship and has separated the crew into different time phases that move at different speeds.

Janeways directs Rok-Tahk to fix the warp core containment but she scares her with the consequences and Rok-Tahk turns off the hologram.

Janeway reappears with Zero. He deduces that he's in a fast time phase but draws a schematic of the solution so Janeway can pass it on. The ship explodes.

Janeway finds herself with Murf next. Not helpful.

In the next phase, Dal is playing a game in his bed. He hasn't even noticed the rest of the crew has disappeared. He tries to use the vehicle replicator to create Zero's schematic but it's been disabled by the anomaly.

Janeway tries to encourage Dal with the story of Apollo 13. He manages to build the matrix but it isn't able to connect to the core because it's missing a coupler. Janeway takes that information onto the next time phase.

In Gwyn's phase, the vehicle replicator is creating the Diviner's machine slowly. Gwyn's looking for the coupler. The machine is a new Drednok. He boards the bridge where Janeway recognizes him from the recording of the attack on Chakotay's Protostar crew.

Drednok recognizes Janeway and reveals that he corrupted her file to wipe the memory. Gwyn tries to attack him but he rebuffs her easily and orders the computer to erase the Janeway program.

Drednok informs Gwyn of his intent to return the ship to The Diviner. She warns him that the core is breached. Drednok immediately finds the correct coupler.

When Drednok goes to connect the core to the matrix, Gwyn opens the bay doors and Drednok is sucked out into space. Unfortunately, it sucks the matrix out too.

Gwyn returns to the bridge to record a captain's log.

In Rok-Tahk's time phase, she tries to restart Janeway but the program is gone. She resigns herself to the ship's destruction. A message from Gwyn comes through. She encourages Rok to save them all by following the information she attaches to the file.

Rok is paralyzed with fear, but eventually overcomes it to build the matrix. She then reboots Janeway out of her memory buffers because she doesn't know where to put the matrix.

She installs the warp matrix and the crew returns.

In the vehicle replicator bay, the pieces of Drednok start to activate.

Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1 Episode 8 Quotes

Pog: What in the name is that?
Gwyn: It's a tachyon storm.
Pog: Jankom was afraid it was a physical manifestation of how he feels.

Dal: We can't do the impossible!
Janeway: Impossible? You have everything to solve this problem, if only you would solve it together. You can't let failure tear your crew apart.
