-Dex gets hit on by a man at the bar and immediately picks up on the fact that he is lying and calls him out for lying and cheating. 

-Dex gambles at the casino that Sue Lynn, the mom of her ex-boyfriend Benny, runs.

-Sue Lynn asks Dex to find Benny's daughter Nina, in exchange for forgiving her debt to the casino. Dex refuses. 

-Dex takes care of her brother Ansel. Ansel is worried about their financial situation, which causes debt to accept Sue Lynn's offer. 

-Dex goes to Nina's friend Lucy and finds out that Nina ran off with her boyfriend, Michael.

-Dex finds Nina and Michael who were running off to elope. 

-Nina gets kidnapped.

-Dex meets Detective Hoffman, who is assigned to the case. He arrests her for unpaid parking tickets to get her to come in for questioning regarding the kidnapping.

-Hoffman and his partner Cosgrove treat Dex like a suspect. 

-Grey bails Dex out.

-Dex goes back to see Michael who tells her that Sue Lynn owes money to a gangster named Baxter.

-Dex goes to her friend Tookie who tells her where to find Baxter.

-Baxter isn't the one who kidnapped Nina, but he mistakes Dex for someone buying a car from him. When he finds out she is lying, Dex steals the car.

-Sue Lynn tells the police that Nina was returned. 

-Dex is having flashbacks to the war. She calls all her go-to booty calls to distract herself, but when she is unable to find anyone she calls Hoffman, and they sleep together.

-Hoffman reveals to Dex that Sue Lynn won't them near Nina. 

-Dex thinks that Sue Lynn is lying to the cops, so she goes back to see Michael again and learns that Michael is the one who kidnapped her.

-Dex is taken by the kidnappers but fights her way out of the trunk and fights back against them.

-After getting a call from Grey about Dex's kidnapping, Hoffman puts out an APB which leads to a high-speed chase between Dex and the police in which she leads them to Michael and Nina. 

-Hoffman tells Dex he has a job opportunity for her.
