Deshawn reflects on the previous tribal council, disappointed at Liana getting voted out. He assures the other castaways that he is not mad. Xander tells Deshawn how well he spoke, and they hug. Deshawn goes off to speak with Danny, and they reflect on how Xander lied to them.

Danny speaks to Xander about Ricard. Xander tells Danny that he did it so that his shield remains. 

Ricard tells Erika that he thinks Xander is loyal. Xander tells Danny that Ricard should be next.

Heather and Deshawn talk, continuing the discussion at tribal council. He explains how his blackness was a huge factor in his game. Heather listens and asks questions. They hug it out.

Erika and Deshawn chat about guilt and playing for themselves rather than what is expected of them. 

At the reward challenge, Jeff explains. It's a combination of diving, swimming, and shooting buoys into baskets. Jeff tells them the reward is a choice between chicken and veggies or desserts. Deshawn remarks that he would prefer a letter from a loved one. The castaways are divided into groups of three. Danny, Heather, and Ricard are one team. Xander, Deshawn, and Erika are the other. Deshawn, Erika, and Xander win. They choose the chicken and veggies as their reward.

Erika, Xander, and Deshawn enjoy their meal. They also discuss taking out Ricard as the next step and getting to Final Three together. Deshawn agrees but secretly doesn't want to go to the end with them.

Heather goes to collect some food. Ricard wanders off. Danny goes on a search for the hidden immunity idol. 

Heather and Ricard work on the fire, wondering where Danny is. Danny returns. Ricard suspects that Danny found the idol. Heather agrees. 

At sunrise, Heather says to Deshawn that she doesn't want to get voted off.

At the water well, Erika and Deshawn discuss their path to the end. Erika worries that Heather's game is too similar to her own. Deshawn argues that the three of them -- Xander, Erika, Deshawn -- have played very different games and would make a solid Final Three. Deshawn gets Erika to admit that she shouldn't take Heather to the end. 

At the immunity challenge, Jeff explains. They must unspool themselves with rope, climb over obstacles, collect puzzle pieces, and solve a puzzle. Ricard wins, making it his third individual immunity.

Everyone congratulates Ricard. Danny and Deshawn realize they are on the chopping block. Ricard asks Danny if he found the idol. Danny tells Ricard he can't say, but in a confessional, tells us that he didn't find anything. Ricard goes through Danny's bag but finds nothing. 

Xander and Heather discuss who would be better at beating Ricard in future challenges -- Deshawn or Ricard. Xander worries that he made a mistake keeping Ricard.

Erika suggests to Heather that they vote out Danny. Erika speaks to Ricard and suggests that they vote out Danny. Ricard would prefer to vote out Deshawn. 

Danny and Deshawn realize they will have to vote for each other. Danny tells Deshawn that he used to play for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. 

Even though they have been together since the beginning, Deshawn still doesn't trust Erika and Heather. He intends to fight for all he's worth at tribal council.

The castaways arrive at tribal council. Deshawn is smiling. Jeff asks why. Deshawn says he's just happy to be here and lays out how the night will go -- Xander, Ricard, Erika, and Heather will vote together to get out either himself or Danny.

Deshawn and Danny remark how Ricard is the biggest threat and should have been voted out. Erika says that trust is just as important as immunity threats. Heather adds that good or bad moves are subjective. Xander notes that the jury management phase has begun. Danny says he is proud of how hard he played. Deshawn tells everyone that Erika told him that she didn't want to take Heather to the end. 

Ricard questions Deshawn's need to say this now, especially since he doesn't know if he's going to be voted out. Erika agrees, saying she and Deshawn have had a bumpy road and now knows she cannot trust him. Jeff notes that Deshawn and Danny have very different strategies when they think they are on the chopping block. 

Jeff reads the votes. It is a 3:3 tie between Danny and Deshawn. The remaining four revote. Danny is voted out.

Jeff informs them that the Final Five will be taken a new island where they have to start again from scratch, with no food and no supplies.
