- The episode opens up with an intense car chase that ends with Hondo lowering himself from a helicopter to save one of the criminals who jumped off the bridge.
- Hondo has seemingly been putting off the LAPD S.W.A.T. photo for the third time, as 20-Squad has been checking all of the boxes.
- While Hondo is with Nichelle, bodycam footage from two missing police officers is released, and Hondo seems to be behind it all. He says that cops need to be held accountable for their actions, and he shoots the two officers.
- Nichelle offers to help and give them hers and Hondo's alibi, but Hondo knows that won't work with video footage. He runs before he's arrested to find out who is behind it.
- Deacon helps Hondo and gives him the keys to Annie's car. However, he also called the team even though Hondo doesn't like it.
- Street has a contact that could help Hondo figure out more about the video, and Hondo disagrees at first, not wanting to put any lives at risk. He soon gives in, knowing Street won't back down.
- Knowing that Hondo didn't do anything, Hicks gets an update from Deacon.
- Street's contact, Elis, figured out the ideo is a deepfake. Someone installed spyware into Hondo's phone.
- Chris scored data from the missing cops' squad car, and from it, they find out a guy has been following the squad car.
- 20-Squad finds the guy's trailer but his gone. His computer, though, has the original video, but the gunshots were fake, and the two police officers are likely still alive.
- Hondo and Street get to the hotel where Elise tracked the IP address to, but Hondo finds Arthur Novak there, from Mexico. Arthur already called the police on him, and Hondo is arrested but later released.
- Back at HQ, Hondo admits to 20-Squad what happened in Mexico. It's later found out that Novak's record south of the border has been cleared.
- While Hondo is cleared to go back into the field, Hicks benches him for running.
- 20-Squad finds out where Novak could be hiding the officers. Hondo finds out that the team is actually getting set up by Novak, and they walk into an ambush.
- Luca is hit by a bullet, but luckily it's just a bruise.
- Hondo tells Street and Deacon he's done sitting on the sidelines, and the two try to stop him. Street tells Hondo he's a good cop, which is something that Hondo told him after Nate died.
- Hondo tells Novak there's a warrant out for his arrest, and he makes a deal with him. The two officers for a way out.
- Knowing that Hondo could be setting something up, Novak orders one of his men to take him to a different location on an airstrip. He has other ways out of the country.
- Hondo tells Novak he and his team were on to him, and a shootout commences. Hondo and Deacon save the two officers, who were left on the ground during it.
- Novak's place stars moving, and Hondo jumps on the side to stop it, with Black Betty matching its speed. In turn, Novak is arrested.
- Nichelle was worried about Hondo, realizing the realities of his job, but she is going nowhere.
- Hicks restores Hondo to active duty
- 20-Squad hangs out together, and finaly gets the photo. ROLL S.W.A.T.
