Recap

On Switched at Birth Season 4 Episode 6, Melody opens up an investigation on the possible sexual assault on Bay. Unfortunately Bay wants nothing to do with the investigation and she tries to convince Melody not to go ahead with it, but her hands are tied and according to procedure she has no choice. Seeing as there is an investigation, Bay has to tell Emmett and when she does she leaves out she feels she was sexually assaulted and instead just tells him she had sex with Tank which angers him right away. Daphne decides to help Bay out and flies out to see Emmett and tells him what happened to Bay.

Meanwhile, Regina and Kathryn try to help Bay out the best way they can, but Bay wants to avoid the situation and not talk until Kathryn tells Bay about what happened to her when she was younger. When Kathryn was 17 she was touched inappropriately by her friends brother and she never said anything because there was no sex and she was felt she did not matter. Upon hearing this story Bay decides she will comply with the investigation and talk with them about what happened. When she is talking with the investigator she makes sure to tell her that Tank wasn't the only one at fault and she was just as much to blame for drinking so much she blacked out, but she still thinks want Tank did was wrong and she basically does feel violated. In the end the decision is made to expel Tank from school which is not the decision Bay wanted.

Switched at Birth Season 4 Episode 6 Quotes

Mary Beth: Bay is an adult.
Travis: Meaning what?
Mary Beth: Meaning, I feel awful for her, but she shouldn't have drunk so much that she blacked out.
Travis: So it's her fault?
Mary Beth: No. I'm saying she shouldn't have put herself in that situation.
Travis: You're a girl! How can you say that?
Mary Beth: Because I'm a girl. I know we have to be smart, we can't let our guard down. It sucks its that way for us, but that's how it is.

There's enough blame to go around. You can't just hang one guy for it.
