Townsend hires an assassin to kill Liz. Liz has gathered her team to warn them that Townsend is attempting to have her killed. Red warns the Task Force about the Protean, the hitman hired to kill Liz. The Protean breaks into Liz's apartment and kills Dax, then Skip, then Esi. Liz had gone to the roof to get a better signal. She finds them dead when she returns. Red visits Max Frey, who has access to the Customs database. The Task Force finds Liz's team. Vivi picks Agnes up from school early, just as the Protean arrives. Red has called in Paula to sort through the database. The Protean is staking out Liz's half-sister Jen. He forces Jen to text Liz. Jen and Liz plan to meet. Paula makes Red call Bingo. Paula weaves a wild story in which Red is a priest who has been ripped off by a deacon and gets the BIngo players to help him find a dead man. The hitman shoots Jen but Liz runs him down. He drops his phone, which the Task Force recovers. Jen dies on the way to the hospital. The Bingo players come up with the name of Rhys Engel and the Task Force knows at what hotel he is staying from his phone. Liz talks to God and says goodbye to all those killed by Engel. Liz calls Ressler to pick up and bury Jen's body. Engel tracks Liz to her hideout. Ressler warns her Engel is coming. Liz gets the drop of him. The Task Force surrounds the car. But Liz won't let him go until she finds out where Townsend is. He moves quickly and Ressler shoots him. They take Liz into custody. Red tells Harold to bring her to him but Cooper refuses.
