Recap

Claire is in the room full of stuff, talking to Melendez's ghost. He doesn't see what difference all this stuff makes. She thinks it's symbols of lives interrupted, cut down too short.

Melendez scoffs, but Claire finds a pair of dog tags with a different name than the name of the person who died. She becomes determined to reunite them with their owner.

Despite Melendez thinking it's silly, Claire continually makes calls until eventually she locates the owner. She returns the tags and he says they belonged to his... friend (boyfriend?)

In the car, Melendez tells Claire their story was cut short too but she has a great future ahead. Later, Claire asks Lim if they can stop going to the cemetery.

Meanwhile, Shaun continues to struggle with communication as he deals with Martin and Martin's wife. Shaun's blunt ways cause a problem when LIli demands to know if he knows what he is doing and he tells her it's her fault Martin got COVID. Andrews tells him he can't talk to patients that way.

Later, after talking to Glassman, Shaun tries to be kinder. Martin's leg needs to be amputated. Shaun is surprised that Lili appreciates him telling her this.

Elsewhere, the staff sees a lot of patients die, and a nurse that worked at the hospital lays dying too. At first she doesn't want to be put on a ventilator but later agrees, but sadly she does not make it. A few weeks later, her son tells Morgan that his mom admired her.

After all is said and done, Lea comes to see Shaun and says she has had several negative COVID tests. He lets her in.
