The Good Doctor Season 3 Episode 10 revolves around people facing their relationships with their parents.

Shaun insists on inviting Lea to accompany him on a trip with Glassman to see Shaun's father, who is dying. Shaun does not want to see either of his parents and when he does go to see his father, explodes at him that his father is a bad person.

Glassman and Lea have different ideas about what should happen. Lea takes Shaun to the lake, but he gets mad when she pretends she is drowning to get him to come in the water.

Later, Shaun's mother talks to him and says she didn't know what he needed when he was a child. He goes to see his father and forgives him, but his father calls him weak and stupid. Soon afterward, his father dies.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Park pressures Claire to deal with her mental health issues, but she doesn't want to hear it. She, Park and Morgan must also work with Melendez on helping an NFL star who broke his back lifting weights that were too heavy. When Claire tells the patient that his surgery was successful and he will play again, he confides in her that he hates football and was trying to injure himself so that he couldn't play. However, he doesn't want to quit because he came from poverty and now makes a lot of money.
