The Good Doctor Season 4 Episode 18 revolves around triumphing over adversity.

Shaun wants to go camping with Lea to take their minds off of their grief. Lea is sure Shaun won't enjoy camping, but he wants to push out of their comfort zone so off they go. Their original campsite is full and after averting an argument with a forest ranger, Lea finds another one, where their view of the lake is promptly blocked by an RV and it starts thundering.

The next morning, Lea agrees to go hiking but while she is trying to take a picture of Shaun, he falls off a log and dislocates his ankle, requiring surgery.

Meanwhile, Claire's father keeps wanting to clear the air about the past, which Claire doesn't want to do, and when he finally tells her why he left she's angry and wants nothing to do with him. Asher agrees with her, while Lim thinks this is part of repairing their relationship.

On the medical side, Claire, Lim, and Asher work on a teenager with a serious deformity that continually proves inoperable while Park and Morgan disagree about how to treat a patient who has been self-medicating with hallucinogenic mushrooms and now has fungal leisions in his lungs.
