Michael goes back to Earth to save Eleanor, Chidi, Jason, and Tahani from their deaths. He meets a doorman who approves his papers.

Chidi continues to struggle with making decisions and he starts to realize that it is negatively impacting his life. He decides to get an MRI of his brain but everything appeared to be normal. 

Michael and Janet monitor their friend's progress. They both realize that the connection between Eleanor and Chidi is what makes everything else fall into place.

Michael continues to sneak down to Earth to help get the gang back together since they bring out the best in each other. 

Eleanor goes to Australia and meets Chidi. They bond over their near-death experiences and Chidi agrees to help teach her ethics. They go back to their student-teacher relationship and become fast friends.

Eleanor realizes that Chidi and his colleague Simone like each other. Back in the afterlife, this starts to worry Michael.

Eleanor confronts them both about it and takes the situation into her own hands. She convinces Chidi to ask Simone out and Simone agrees.

Shawn figures out what Michael has been doing and is determined to find a way to keep Team Coackroach out of The Good Place.
