The firm is teaming up with Finn Pohlmer on behalf of a man who was crippled after someone else made a plastic gun from a 3D printer and it misfired. They are suing the designer of the gun. Kurt McVeigh testifies on their behalf until he realizes that there was a problem with the printing, not the design. He and Diane argue over the case.

Later, with Kalinda’s help, they realize that the printing malfunctioned because it was printed in cold temperatures. The designer knew this was an issue and failed to give any warning when he put the design online. A $5 million dollar settlement is offered from an unknown source.

After the case, Kurt asks Diane to go on a three day hunting trip in Wyoming with some of the richest men in America. She agrees. 

Louis Canning asks Alicia to visit him in the ICU. He’s received a kidney transplant from a young girl who died and he wants to gift the family his $18 million in stock but David Lee, his estate attorney isn’t returning his phone calls. David Lee tells Alicia that the family wants to donate the money to a pro-Palestine charity and David refuses to be involved for fear they are involved with Hamas. Alicia decides to look into it herself. Later, Eli warns Alicia that his could all be a set up to make it look as though she is giving money to Hamas which will ruin her campaign.

When Frank Prady tears down Peter during the campaign, John tells Alicia that she needs to do the same but when Eli threatens John’s career, he changes his mind. Feeling guilty, John tells Alicia to go after Peter in her latest speech two days before the election. Afterwards he kisses Alicia.
