A young Joy is on the beach with her parents. They're searching for shells. Joy loves her daddy.

Joy wakes up after the dream, feeling disconcerted. She looks at the purple pouch.

Sam needs cinnamon rolls. Cassie is baking away like crazy in the kitchen.

Joy has returned from her out of town work. She doesn't share the dream she had, and wonders if they found anything about the pouches while she was gone.

Vincent sneaks up on Cassie, as much as you can sneak up on anyone.

Cassie's partner won't be coming back to Middleton. The project didn't go well, she tells Martha.

Dotty joins the party just before Martha announces that her daughter-in-law will be staying with her. She wants to make sure her place is a soothing sanctuary for her during her pregnancy.

Dotty has news about the engagement party and wants Abigail to set a date. Donovan's brother, Daniel, will be home for the party, which does not thrill Donovan. It's anything but the wonderful news she thought she was delivering.

By the time Sam returns, everyone is gone. He's got surgery in 25 minutes. Cassie and Sam need to go on a date. Done, he says.

Donovan ran too fast on his job with Abigail. She wonders about Daniel, and Donovan has nothing nice to say.

Abigail wants to be together without feeling pressured to pick a date, a dress, a china pattern. They agree to an extended engagement.

George is going on a fishing trip.

Joy gives Cassie a gift, and it reminds her of her mother. Vincent wonders if he looks like his mother. He told Cassie he'd do that when he was eight. Joy wonders when she'll get around to looking for her dad.

Martha's daughter-in-law is hugely swelled. Dylan calls their baby a little karate kid.

She's come with tons and tons of luggage.

Stephanie tries to analyze her text from Adam, but he's there before she gets too much time to do it. He moves in for a hug, and she shakes his hand. Hug it is!

Donovan can barely hug his brother. And he hates that Daniel calls him Corky because he hung his baseball cards on it with pins, and then the board fell on his head.

Daniel arrives with a chick named Quinn who Donovan dated in high school.

Adam ate fried grasshoppers and dug a 50-foot-deep well. I can't tell if he really loved it or hated it. He has a bracelet the village kids made to bring good vibes. Stephanie leans in for a kiss only to learn that he met someone.

Nothing Martha and Tom does works for Claire.

Cassie visits Sam at the hospital and finds Adam instead. He tells her he's conflicted by a woman named Eileen, but he also still has feelings for Stephanie. Since he's going on another mission trip with Eileen, it's kind of important. Cassie seems to think that Adam and Eileen have more appeal than him and Stephanie.

Joy thinks Stephanie is upset with herself. Stephanie didn't make the world a better place; she made coffee. Joy thinks she needs a vision board. They'll each make one.

Stephanie tells Abigail that Donovan and Quinn were the IT couple. They were voted most likely to stay together forever.

Cassie has a bell for Martha and Tom so that Claire doesn't need to holler anymore.

Sam visits Vincent on his boat, the Nightinsail, for a couple of beers. Vincent hopes he'll find someone soon so that he can start a family since things with Natalie fell apart.

Vincent offers the Nightinsail for Sam to treat Cassie.

Abigail wants to 100% focus on the engagement party. She finds the pouch of dirt, thinking it's a party favor.

The Merriwicks discuss dirtbags.

Dotty knew that Donovan and Quinn would never get married. She puts a lot of trust in fate.

Donovan thinks Daniel is trying to make their whole weekend about him. Abigail teases Donovan about Quinn and that he's all bent out of shape. He's more aggravated that Daniel brought Quinn than than Quinn came.

he gives Abigail a list of everyone he ever dated.

Joy and Stephanie begin their vision boards. Stephanie wishes she had listened to her head when it told her to move on from Adam.

Cassie and Sam are on the water, but it runs out of gas or something. They're dead in the water.

Martha decline's Tom's calls, and he calls her on it. Not even a Tinsdale on Toast can change his mind. It's Martha's shift with Claire!

Cassie and Sam are shipwrecked for about an hour, and they decide to make the most of their time together. With their kids gone, Sam thinks they should be sick of each other, but they see each other less than normal.

The wind's howling calls to Cassie. She hears humming, which sounds a lot like the humming Joy heard with her parents when she was a girl. Even Sam thinks it's weird. Then they stumble onto the rock symbol.

The boat starts up right after. They're not shipwrecked. Cassie says it's a place you'd find in a dream.

The investigator found Vincent's mother, who lives an hour away from Middleton.

The engagement party is beautiful.

Adam and Sam catch up at the engagement party. Sam already knows about Eileen.

When Donovan and Abigail go in for their engagement party kiss, thunder and lightning interrupts. When everyone else is inside, they kiss anyway.

Stephanie says that it will be awkward when Adam and Stephanie see each other. They have to give it time, she says, but he reveals his next mission is a week away.

Quinn is leaving for DC in the morning. Daniel's failure to tell Donovan she was coming was the last straw.

Dotty's gift for the happy couple is a prestigious wedding planner. Instead of telling Dotty that they're not setting a date anytime soon, Donovan chooses not to share with his mother, and Abigail isn't pleased about it.

When Dotty puts them on the spot to announce the date, Abigail begins, but Donovan finishes. He's lackluster in his delivery, which earns jabs from Daniel. They argue.

Tom and Martha think they've both been playing good cop, and it's time to stop. Just then, they see a tiramisu that Claire made for them, saying that Tiny Tinsdale will be the luckiest baby in the world for being their grandchild. And then she rings the bell.

Cassie and Sam realize they've got to try a lot harder to make time for each other.

Abigail and Donovan argue about his inability to stand up to his mother, and they end the night without making up for it.

There are more purple pouches. When Abigail takes the three pouches and drops the dirt onto a square, they formulate the symbol from Joy's dream and the beach.

George is behind them. He thinks it's time they had a talk.
