Recap

George reveals that he delivered the dirt pouches. He left them hanging for two months because he needed them all together, and Joy ran off to Vermont.

He also shares that he knew Laurel, surprising the heck out of them all. He met her when he was 17 when she hired him to paint the gazebo. He's been taking care of the yard ever since.

The dirt in the pouches came from the original Merriwick farm in England. She made him promise not to give them to them until the next red-haloed moon. Joy is shocked -- Laurel knew there would be three of them.

Donovan offers Abigail coffee and a doughnut, apologizing that he didn't tell his mother. They're on the same page immediately. Donovan is thrilled. Daniel, the golden boy, isn't home for the engagement but because he lost his job.

Martha ran over Sam's golf clubs on her way to whinge about the unknown movie night theme. When Sam returns with his broken clubs covered in grease, Sam inspires Grease night.

Sam wants drag races, but it's not to be.

Eileen has come to see Adam, and they're really a lot closer than imagined.

She can read Adam well, worrying that her surprise isn't as great as she'd hoped. Adam says he doesn't want to make Stephanie feel uncomfortable, and instead, Eileen and Adam are uncomfortable.

She decides to go back to the original plan, and they'll see each other on the plane.

Joy has created a dating profile for Stpehanie on Sparksy. She's not looking to swipe her way to Mr. Right. Martha joins and shares that she and Tom met by reaching for Rocketman in the record store.

They've been married for 31 years.

Stephanie is catering movie night.

Sam has hired a new doctor, the newest cardiothorasic surgeon, Dr. Monica McBride. She's Grant's girlfriend, so Sam is glad he didn't know their relationship.

Cassie invites them to barbecue. They have a thing, both Sam and Grant say, hoping to get out of it.

Joy is worried about losing the egg race, making Abigail practice.

Everyone is talking parents when Vincent's mother's number was disconnected. Abigail had a happy ending, and Joy doesn't thin she could work things out with her dad.

Awkward. Eileen helps Stephanie in the cafe, and Stephanie notices the bracelet, and they get into an even more awkward conversation in which Eileen reveals too much. But, being Stephanie, it's a lovely outcome.

Joy isn't happy revisiting memories on the island because it's a sad reminder of a father who let her down. Still, Abigail finds a shell near the spot of her dream, even if it doesn't have the markings on the back.

When Vincent and Cassie arrives at his mother's house, they find another foster family there. The boy is happy to know that Vincent and Cassie met and became family together.

Abigail visits Dotty, who is ridiculously excited about family dinner, and she's already setting the table.

Abigail hopes that Dotty might be open to trying things a different way, one that would allow the family to air their differences and get everything out in the open. Dotty does not agree.

Adam wants Stephanie's opinion on Eileen, and it goes surprisingly well.

The tree in the design is a good symbol. Trees survive many storms.

Abigail hopes that Donovan is airing things out, but Donovan says it's not the Davenport way. Then Daniel shows off by toasting his brother and his happiness.

There is a Davenport tradition in which Dotty inspired the spirit of competition by asking who had the best day. Daniel blathers on about getting the president's endorsement for his campaign. When it comes to his turn, Donovan returns the "bro." He's finding what Daniel said hard to swallow.

He asks flat out. How are you and Congressman Kim going to have a meeting with the president when Congressman Kim fired you?

Cassie's barbecue goes well. Grant has a ring for Monica and asks Sam for advice. Sam says he's Dr. Sam, not Dr. Phil.

Dotty still thinks that her dinner question worked beautifully when they were kids, and she's stunned when Abigail pushes back.

Donovan worries about outing Daniel, but Daniel disagrees. He says it's not easy being the golden boy. Who cares who had the best day? He didn't.

Dotty visits Martha when she needs a friend, surprising them both. It's worse when Martha says she never inspired competition in her boys because it would have been driving them apart.

Maybe Martha was overprotective. They both admit they could have done better.

Sam and Vincent connect over hoops. Vincent wants to help out the kid they met. Vincent is sailing away tomorrow. Change of plans, Sam says.

Eileen wishes she could stay to twirl with Adam on '50s night. Eileen leans in to kiss Adam, and he pulls away. Stephanie.

There is a painting in an alcove that Stephanie and Adam painted. It needs to come down to expand. No need in moving things around. She takes it off the wall.

The dinners continue between Cassie, Sam, Grant, and Monica. It's going so well, that Grant proposes. The moment is right. But she says, please don't.

Monica had a heart transplant five years ago. It wouldn't be fair to Grant since she doesn't know how much longer she'll be around. It wasn't a secret, so Cassie thinks Monica should let Grant decide.

It's party time!!

Hula hoops, fastballs, egg games. Cassie invited Michael and his foster mom.

Adam was called Kid Swivel once upon a time. Adam tells Stephanie he misses them. She does, too. He wants to pretend the last two months didn't happen, but she can't do that. She needs to find what she's missing now that he discovered what he needs. She doesn't want him to make the same mistake that she did.

Dotty tells Abigail that she was right and thanks her. She's all down with the competitive side now.

Good Witch Season 7 Episode 2 Quotes

George: She never told me what they were for except to say it was part of your journey. Except, the cat's already out of the bag.
Joy: But we don't know what the symbol has to do with the red-haloed moon.

You know how in classic mysteries, the butler always did it? Well, in this mystery, the handyman did it.
