On The Mysteries of Laura Season 1 Episode 9 Laura and Billy get a call about a murder of a couple in their apartment. When they go and search the apartment they talk to the little girl that found the couple murdered. She did not see anyone except for a guy that came in with some boxes. Laura and Billy go and look for him and find him painting buildings, they take him in for questioning but the only thing he did was steal from the couple. This leads Billy and Laura to investigate the couples church. At the church they meat the pastor who tells that the couple was interested in the program to help their son realize that he was no longer gay (pray the gay away) and Billy and Laura get the idea that maybe the son had something to do with the murder. 

Billy and Laura find Daniel and Daniel's boyfriend but the only thing that he is guilty of is trying to extort money from his parents; he did not want the money going to the church that wronged him. Daniels boyfriend gives them the idea that maybe his family had something to do with it considering he was arranged to get married to a woman but he came out as gay. They interview the boyfriends brother and they find evidence that his gold clubs were used in the killing of the couple; but he is not the one that did it. Turns out that the lawyer that Daniel hired killed the parents in attempt to get money. 

Meanwhile, Jake and Laura hire a new nanny that is the perfect antidote for the boys terror. She teaches them how to be gentlemen and behave for their parents.
