When you watch The Mysteries of Laura Season 1 Episode 7 we join Laura and Jake as they investigate the recent death of a man named David. It leads them to his families art gallery and when they break the news to his family they get two different responses; his sister is shocked but his father is not at all surprised. This immediately makes Laura and Jake think it was the father that may have killed David until they find out that David was also a big gambler. This leads them to a karaoke bar when they discover a back-room gambling ring. Laura gets herself into the game and meets a woman named Bridget who is pretending to be a cocktail waitress but is in fact that ringleader. When Laura reveals herself as a cop to the group, Bridget tries to run but Meredith catches her and brings her in for questioning. At the stations, Bridget reveals that David was laundering money through his families gallery for her and that she was keeping him around because he had a thing for her. When Laura and Jake go and confront the sister about it, they find out that she has known all along that David was laundering money and was trying to protect him. Laura gets ready to arrest the sister until she realizes that things do not add up and that in fact it was the sister's boyfriend that killed David.
