The scene opens in a strange world where a man meets with a girl, who warns him the world will change.

Shift to a different time and place, where a woman takes care of her mom. The medication is running low for her mother.

She goes out to look for her brother, Burton, who is in his gaming van gaming.

She takes his place in a game, and if they get to the next level they make $1k. She passes the level.

Flynne then heads to work at the tech company she works at.

At work, her coworkers reveal that Burton got a new headset that was given to them for beta testing.

When she gets home, he reveals that the headset comes with a sim testing gig, and that he wants her to use his avatar.

She hooks up to the headset and heads into the sim.

In the sim, Flynne is controlling Burton's body.

Flynne gets guided to a certain party that has the target for the "game."

The game turns into a kidnapping game, and Flynne takes the woman into a cab and kills her.

The driver, which seems to be a robot of some kind, starts attacking him.

The woman that was guiding the avatar confronts Flynne and the mission ends, which logs Flynne out.

Flynne and her brother talk about how awesome the sim was, and how they gained a lot of money.

Flynne goes out to celebrate.

The next day, she jumps back into the sim to find the Burton avatar tied to a medical table.

The woman, Aelita, takes out the Burton avatar's left eye and replaces it with the woman's from the night before.

Once the avatar heals from the surgery (which happened quickly), they headed out.

They break into a building using a retina scan (hence the eye replacement).

They get discovered, and Flynne must face off against a formidable opponent.

Aelita escapes, leaving the avatar to get killed.

Once killed, Flynne gets launched out of the game where she feels lightheaded and sick, and throws up.

The next day at work, Flynne gets some weird messages through ALL of the machines, warning her that she is in danger.

She gets home and warns her brother about the threats, and he's hanging out with friends, and he doesn't believe her.

Despite them not believing her, they send out a drone to check the perimeter and find an entire kill squad converging on their property.
