While doing an appendectomy, Dr. Bell's hand starts shaking and he nicks an artery killing his patient. He immediately threatens the rest of his team making them cover for him. And they do. Lying about what caused the patient's cause of death. Devon's girlfriend gives him an expensive watch to commemorate his first day on the job as a new doctor. Devon is starstruck over meeting Dr. Bell. His hero. He's not impressed with Conrad, his resident. And Conrad gives him a speech about breaking him to make him better. He makes Devon give a patient a rectal exam, and afterwards Devon goes to Nic requesting a new resident, but Nic tells him that Conrad is a jerk, but he's the best. Conrad tries to hook up with his old flame, Nic, in a storage closet but she takes his clothes and leaves him hanging. A beloved cancer patient enters the hospital. Conrad assigns her to Devon. Another patient with gangrene loses his toe. When an addict comes in and codes, Conrad puts Devon in charge. Devon refuses to call the code and revived her but she's brain dead because he doesn't listen to Conrad. The hospital introduced new tech, Titian, for precise surgery. Mina has mastered the tech. Bell talks to his friend and a donor who will the first to use the machine. The patient is upset when he hears Mina is doing the surgery not Bell. Bell decided he had to do the surgery even though he has no experience with the Titian. He threatens to screw with Mina's view if she doesn't help. Conrad tells Bell that he arranged for the procedure to be streamed live. Devon goes rogue to save Lily. Not waiting for Conrad. Nic is hesitant, but when Conrad comes and urged him to do it, it's a success. It appears as though Bell does the surgery, but Conrad goes behind the scenes and sees that Mina is really doing it. Conrad tells Devon about the patient that haunts him too. Conrad goes in Chloe's room to turn off the machine. When he does, Nic catches him. He turns it back on and leaves without saying a word.
