It's Gigi's birthday and they prepare for her party. Gigi tells Billie how much she loves her as Conrad and Billie kiss.

• Bell calls Conrad to tell him he needs help with Sammie.
• Bell is stressed out over Sammie.
• Betz is about to have his surgery.
• Sammie's lungs have collapsed and everyone gets to work on her.
• Kit updates the press about Betz.
• AJ and Leela perform Betz's transplant.
• Conrad and Devon tell Kitbell that Sammie's CT scan isn't good.  She could have cancer again.
• Kitbell asks Ian to come back for Sammie.
• Ian is keeping up with his sobriety and speaks to a sponsor. He recognizes that trying to save children is his trigger. He wonders if he needs to find a different way to make a living since medicine is his trigger.
• Ian initially denies helping but then caves.
• The heart doesn't start at first, which stressed them out, but evenetually it does and Betz is alive.
• Gigi wants to go to the hospital to be with Sammie.
• Teh pressure is on when everyone including Sammie has all their faith riding on Ian.
• Betz starts having a reaction and is pain after surgery.
• Cade is worried about Ian being there and possibly relapsing.
• Billie brings Gigi to the hospital to see Sammie despite Conrad saying no.
• Conrad now  has to figure out what else is happening to Betz to cause Betz to crash.
• Sammie is dealing with her own medical mystery. It's not cancer.
• Devon and Conrad both hit the room and the whiteboards for each of them and talk things through with each other.
• Conrad figures out that Betz has an extended bowel aschemia and pages Bell to do surgery.
• Gigi notices that Sammie's tongue is red and it helps Devon diagnose kawaskai disease. Sammie then has heart issues because of it and needs surgery too.
• They tell Bell they need him to operate but Bell isn't happy about it.
• Ian has to do a Cabbage surgery and Ian knows it has to be done, but he doesn't want to do it because of his addiction.
• Ian tells Kitbell about his addiction and they're both livid and don't trust him but need him to do the surgery.
• Bell stumbles on his way into surgery. Stress makes his MS worse.
• Sammie starts coding after her aneurysm eruptures. He needs AJ.
• Leela comes in to take over for Bell.
• Leela comes in with the major save and Bell commends her and says he passes the torch to her and scrubs out.
• Sammie's surgery goes well and she survives.
• Betz gives a speech a week later to say that he's restoring Chastain's full funding.
• Kit tells Ian that she'd like him to return to Chastain full time. He agrees to stay.
• Bell telsl Devon how proud he is of Devon and he agrees to the tecond stage of the trial
• Padma is back and AJ and Leela are supporting her.
• Ian returns to his office and Bell is still leery of him.
• Bell passes his stethescope his mentor gave him to Leela on her first day as an attending.
• Devon proposes to Leela.
• they have gigi's party at the hospital in Sammie's room.
• Conrad tells Billie that he loves her and she says the same.
