The year is 1932. In a Romanian village, Abraham's bubbeh shares the story of Sardu.

"Since childhood he suffered from gigantism" the old woman told her grandson. As the tale went on, we learn that Sardu's hunting party had gone missing in the woods. Hoping to find his brother, he tracks him to a dark cavern. Inside, an ancient strigoi awaits and is greedily feeding.

The creature, impressed with Jusef's immense size, transfers his spirit via bloodworms into the young giant. Soon after, village children begin to vanish.

In the present, older Setrakian remembers the Master crashing through the window into the sun. Unfortunately, the monster survived and managed to escape into an old building. Setrakian enters that building and comes face to face with the mysterious strigoi soldiers.

At Vasiliy's apartment, the exterminator is busy strigoi-proofing his place. Eph informs him that he's going to go back to being a doctor. He and Nora will attempt to create a biological weapon to destroy the vampires.

Vaun, the strigoi who speaks for the Ancients, informs Setrakian that the Master is the seventh ancient. The others seek an alliance in order to bring him to justice. Setrakian talks of The Occido Lumen, an ancient book that details the rise of the Strigoi. If he can discover a weakness in its pages, he will exploit it and kill the Master.

Elsewhere, the Master tells Eichhorst he needs to replace his damaged body. He also asks his lieutenant for children and assigns Kelly a special mission.

Before Setrakian can begin his quest for the book, he needs a few supplies he tucked away in a storage facility. The old man picks the wrong unit, his memory not being what it used to be. Inside, an older couple is hiding out from the panic in the streets.

Unfortunately, several strigoi attack and the couple gets nicked. Rather than release them, Eph tells the group they need them. This couple will become test subjects for their strigoi-killing bio-weapon.

In the final moments, Eichhorst brings Kelly to a container full of dirt. As she holds her hands out, small children strigoi begin to surface.
