Palmer and Fitzwilliam walk through Setrakian's pawn shop and box everything up, including the vampire heart for transfer to Stoneheart. Eichhorst informs the old man he wasn't turned. "The Master gave you the white yes, but not the worm." He was rewarded with health but not immortality (for now). Meanwhile, Setrakian, Eph and Fet make plans to locate the Master's new nest. Fet figures some reconnaissance during the day is their best bet. The duo centers in on Tribeca in Lower Manhattan and it isn't long before Eph realizes Rockstar Gabriel Bolivar has purchased a large theater in the area. It's pretty likely The Master's holed up inside the theater. Fet's knowledge of the city pays off when he tells Eph the bar across the street connects to the theater via an underground tunnel. They take the passageway and discover not only several vamps but what's left of the Master's coffin as well. Elsewhere, Gus comes face to face with his kidnapper. The strigoi, Quinlan, knows Eichhorst hired Gus to transport the coffin across the river. He's also aware Gus desires revenge for what happened to his family. The Latino gangbanger is introduced to the Ancients and told they need a human soldier who can move freely in the daylight. They are at war with the Master as well and wish to enlist his help in massacring the unclean. Dutch and Eph's pirate broadcast reached some powerful people. Palmer meets with the Secretary of Health and Human Services about her proposed quarantine of Manhattan. Naturally, he can not allow this course of action and throws the woman off the balcony. Back in Tribeca, our heroes take the tunnel into Bolivar's theater. The Master and the strigoi are already waiting for them. An epic battle begins and strigoi heads start to roll but the Master is nowhere to be found. Eph and Setrakian head upstairs, while the others face off against Eichhorst and Bolivar. Miriam's voice calls out to Abraham and it isn't long before the creature comes out of the shadows. Eph and Zack break the glass panels above them. Light begins to pour in and The Master soon finds himself outside in the sun. Does this kill the creature? Unfortunately no, he scurries down the side of the building and gets away. The team is devastated by their defeat, when young Zack begins wheezing and they're forced to return to the Goodweather house for an inhaler. Strigoi-Kelly returns home to her loved ones and calls out Zack's name. Eph takes a shot but misses and she vanishes. Either way, Zack's now learned the awful truth that his mother is a vampire.
