At the beginning of the competition, each competitor will prepare their best dish in hopes of being chosen for a team and having the chance to work with one of these well-known chefs. Watch The Taste online to find out who will be chosen, and whether or not the judges will be surprised by the cooks they choose for their own teams. Once the teams are chosen on The Taste, the judges will mentor their teams during the team challenges, when teams battle for the chance to be mentored by a guest judge. Then, the dish each chef prepares for the individual challenge will be judged blindly based on taste alone, meaning it is entirely possible that a judge / mentor could eliminate a member of their own team. And the challenges won’t be easy, either. Competitors will find themselves creating dishes with ingredients they’ve never used and techniques they’ve never tried.
