Jo opens up to Alaric on The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 7. In doing so she revealed what so many of us had come to guess: she is Kai's sister.

After a successful date night together where Jo revealed that she actually gave her magic up for safekeeping and Alaric revealed he was loving being in pain because it made him feel human again, Alaric saw a nasty scar on Jo's stomach. She admitted that it was from her brother gutting her spleen with a hunting knife as a child.

Bonnie fixed the tool that would've transported her back to modern day, but she didn't trust Kai so she put her magic somewhere safe...in her teddy bear. Damon found the bear in the cemetery at a particularly low moment, giving him optimism that Bonnie is still alive.

Damon hijacked Elena from her date at the hospital's fundraiser and she finally decided she wanted to try and regain her memories. They went to the last place they said "I love you," or as close to it as possible near the Mystic Falls border. Elena was crazy enough to try to cross the border to try and undo the compulsion but Damon brought her back. Damon realized he had to try to give her up.

Tripp's cronies kidnapped Sherrif Forbes. Stefan helped Caroline save her, before they had the awkward conversation of Caroline's feelings. In the end, Caroline still doesn't want to talk to him.
