This Is Us Season 6 Episode 15 tells Miguel's story.

As a child in Puerto Rico, Miguel enjoys time with his friends, while his parents worry about finances. They relocate to America so his father can take a job and Miguel begins to learn English and dreams of seeing a baseball game in person.

As a middle-aged man, Miguel has made it as a salesman, though he has to use an Anglicized version of his name to get an interview with a big company. He goes to see his parents for Christmas and his father is uncomfortable with his success. Miguel storms out and instead goes to a bar to meet Jack. He is uncomfortable because Rebecca is there and he's sure Rebecca hates him. Jack asks to take a look at Miguel's new car so that Miguel and Rebecca can talk.

Ten years after going to Houston, Miguel sees on Facebook that Tess was born. He messages Rebecca to congratulate her and they rekindle their friendship. When Miguel is in Pittsburgh, he and Rebecca have dinner and they begin a romantic relationship. Eventually, Miguel decides to retire and move to Pittsburgh. Rebecca decides it's time to tell the kids.

Meanwhile, in the present, Miguel is insisting on taking care of Rebecca himself despite his own health problems. He falls while trying to get Rebecca to come in from the snow but doesn't want to get a full-time nurse.
