Martin and Rust continue to be questioned about the murder of Dora Lange as we flash back to see just how they worked the case. Rust opens up about his past. His daughter was killed by a car and his wife left shortly after. Martin talks about having to unwind from the job to the detectives as we see the strain the case put on his family and just how he dealt with it. Rust mentions how he can smell a woman on Martin and the two partners argue and put hands on each other. Martin and Rust put it behind them to get back on the case. They track down the location of a bunny ranch where the victim was supposed to have been staying. They speak with a girl she was friendly with and find her journal which leads them to a burnt out church where they find a drawing of a woman with antlers. Rust confesses to the detectives questioning him that he would have visions from time to time in those days, stemming from his days as deep cover narcotics agent. Without a suspect, Martin and Rust are told they may lose the case to a special task force who is focusing on cult related crimes. Martin asks to have until the end of the month to break the case.
