The episode opens with The Monarch, who has Hank and Dean held for ransom and is asking Dr. Venture for $10 million.  After getting him to agree, Captain Sunshine breaks into the cacoon and steals Hank, who apparently looks remarkably like his old Wonder Boy that the Monarch killed.  He also steals Monarch, who the moron drops off at jail without any attempt at going through the legal system.  Monarch just heads back home in a cab and attempts to do the exchange with Venture with only Dean, only to have Venture and Sgt Hatred fail to double cross them.

They give back Dean with the promise of an IOU and agree to try the exchange the following day.  Venture hits up Billy and Mr. White who won ten million in an insurance claim, and gets them to agree to loan him the cash.  When they re-attempt the exchange, Venture discovers they don't actually have Hank and the Monarch runs away with the ten mil.  What the Monarch doesn't realize is that he snuck on board a shrunken Sgt Hatred (who was supposed to return to regular size, but the shrink ray failed to restore him).  When Dr. Girlfriend discovers the hiding spot of Captain Sunshine, Venture overhears and both sides end up at his place that night.

Meanwhile, Captain Sunshine, who is voiced by Batman legend Kevin Conroy, has taken Hank under his inappropriate wing as his new Wonder Boy.  He lubes the poor boy up and dresses him in a gross costume.  While out at his day job being a news correspondent, Chuck Scarsdale, Sunshine returns home when his butler sets off the alarm, to find Monarch about to take back Hank, while Venture hides trying to avoid being on the news.  Monarch reveals that he knows that Sunshine has no powers at night, but uses a radiation gun that Dr. Girlfriend built for him.  The gun restores Sunshine's powers and he's busy whooping the Monarch and his henchmen's butts when Hank steps in and stops him.  Once he realizes Dr. Venture his Hank's dad, they leave but not after giving Sunshine a heartfelt speech.
