Recap

Guess we're still not rid of Jimmy. Instead of dealing with the sitautions we enjoy, we're on the road with Jimmy and Travis.

John takes Kayce to a special place and gives him the information on the con who ordered their kill. He instructs his son to visit Jamie to get the guys prison records.

John is also worried about Kayce's family.

Jamie is at his new ranch, thanking Garrett for giving him the strength to purchase it.

Caroline calls Beth over for a discussion. Beth is on her best behavior, talking dicks and all kinds of good stuff. Caroline threatens Beth before offering common ground, which includes putting an offer on the land trust Beth created via Schwartz & Meyer.

Then she offers Beth a job as a corporate raider for Market Equities in exchange for a destination town in every valley, much like happened in Colorado. It's a name your price offer, and Beth offers her skills for Market Equities controlling share in Schwartz & Meyer.

Jamie is meeting with a law firm who is hoping to bring a lawsuit against the state. She's unhappy about what she calls a land grab that will wreck the state's natural resources. Jamie agrees when she says the state's position is basically to fuck off.

Kayce shows up immedately following that meeting.

Jamie looks thrilled to see Kayce. Kayce is hurt that Jamie just disappeared, but Jamie says he's still fighting for the family. Jamie assures Kayce that there is what's just and there's the law. Because of him, they aren't in jail for the vigilante justice.

Jamie hates Beth and won't visit John because of her presence.

Jamie wonders how the guy in prison could possibly be responsible. But when Kayce says that John wants him to handle it personally, Jamie is touched, leading to one of the most beautiful moments of the series so far.

Lloyd and the wranglers are out wrangling. Rip and John are getting ready to join, but they see Lloyd bringing the entire flock in because he thinks it's easier. Rip is not pleased.

Lloyd blames his shortcut on the girls' inability to rope.

Kayce reports to John that Jamie didn't blink. He just said yes. Kayce has come up with an idea for his family, which he says won't be easy for either of them but probably is right.

Monica is bathing Tate, prompting Kayce to wonder if he's getting a little old for that.

Kayce offers to take Monica and Tate to Grandpa Felix's for a while, and he says he'll go too.

Kayce promises to be back in a couple of days.

Teeter makes dinner for everyone which causes an uproar.

Mia is pulling out tomorrow. It's rodeo season. Llaramie turns her back on Mia. Walker takes Lloyd a bowl, and Lloyd throws a punch. It turns into a melee.

Rip is ready to lay into Carter when he hears the brawl from the bunkhouse. He slams Lloyd and tells Walker there's no fighting, and if he wants to fight someone, come see him, and they'll fight all fuckin' day.

John puts Beth in charge of finding another way to make money for the ranch, and she shares her job offer. She thinks that if she works for Market Equities, she may have control over the way things with the ranch plays out.

John wonders why all of his kids have to leave to find happiness. From that, Beth realizes she's not peaceful, either, before suggesting she's going to get her dad laid. He is so embarrassed and says the man-to-man shit they got goin' isn't working.

Rip visits Carter again to tell him he has no future beyond this place. If he doesn't find a way to get Beth's trust back, then he won't have that, either. He's gotta choose livin' or the grave before life chooses it for him.

Travis says the best movie ever made is Road House. He also wishes the mullet would come back in style. When Jimmy says rodeo was the only thing he was ever any good at, Travis laughs. He's all broken up, so he wasn't all that good at it.

Travis tells Jimmy that all cowboyin' is comes down to you and a horse trying not to let the other one down.

Beth has come up with another way to ensure she gets fucked in the morning before he tries to run to work. She asks about his birthday, and when he says he doesn't know when it is, she's so sad. She chooses a day to celebrate him. September 28th.

Travis and Jimmy arrive at the 6666.

Lloyd wakes up off the floor.

Jamie gets his file from the Bureau of Prisons where it lists Garrett Randall as one of the guy's roommates. Too bad that's not surprising.

Back to Texas.

Yellowstone Season 4 Episode 4 Quotes

I think she can make Montana the fastest-growing state in the nation. Behind every milestone of human history stands a monster, and that's our monster.

Caroline

Caroline: Stubbornness is not a business strategy, Beth. It's how you lose the ranch all together. You're smart enough to know that.
Beth: Oh, I know it, and if we still own it by the time my father dies, you're my first call. But in the meantime, his dream is my Alamo, and I will die on the fuckin' wall defending it.
