13 Canceled Shows That Deserve a Proper Ending

at .

Let's be real. Everyone has that one show that they're still bitter over. Whether the problem was low ratings, cast discrepancies, or network issues, anybody can tell you the story of a series they loved that got canceled way too soon.

Questions were left unanswered, ships were left in their ports, and frankly, viewers were left unhappy. But wouldn't it be nice if every canceled show was allowed some sort of wrap up to satisfy the audience and give the show an actual conclusion?

We've created a slideshow of 13 shows that didn't get (or won't get) the proper ending they deserve.

1. The Secret Circle

The Secret Circle had one of the best first seasons on television. There were so many more storylines to be explored and so many different aspects that could have been pulled from L.J. Smith's book series, but because of its ratings and high production costs, we never got to see what could've been.

2. The Lying Game

To this day, The Lying Game still feels like Freeform's smartest drama. And yes, even more so than Pretty Little Liars. There was never a dull or predictable moment, and the finale left on a cliffhanger for which we still, years later, need an explanation.

3. Rosewood

There were a lot of sad things about Rosewood's cancellation, but the most disappointing factor was the lost potential between Rosewood and Villa. They were a "will they/won't they" couple that deserved more time to figure out things.

4. The Shannara Chronicles

The first season of The Shannara Chronicles was golden, but unfortunately, the second one fell flat. The relationship between Wil, Eretria, and Amberle was the best part of the show, but when that relationship fell apart, so did the series. Even though Season 2 wasn't the best, we would've loved to have some kind of conclusion where Amberle came back and the three lived out their lives together.

5. Sweet Vicious

Sweet Vicious was loved by many due to the serious issues it addressed. MTV ended up canceling it (along with most of its scripted series), but a wrap-up episode would've at least provided closure for the characters and the fans.

6. The Nine Lives of Chloe King

Talk about an explosive finale. It should've been illegal for Freeform to cancel a show right after the most shocking and confusing episode. But unfortunately, the ratings just didn't make the cut, and Chloe's lives ran out for good.

7. Eye Candy

Eye Candy was just another show that deserved better. Victoria Justice's acting did fall flat in some parts, but the plot and her budding relationship with Tommy more than made up for it. Who's going to start the long overdue petition for Season 2? Or at least an Eye Candy movie?

8. From Dusk Till Dawn

The last episode did a good job of wrapping up the season, but it felt like there was still so much more story to tell. There was too much left unsaid between Seth and Kate, and we deserved to see Kate's adventures with the Gecko brothers in all its glory.

9. Faking It

The saddest part about Faking It's cancellation was that Karmy never got a real chance. The show had been about their love from the beginning, but the series never got a chance to really follow through.

10. Shadowhunters

It may not be over yet, but a proper ending for this show would be at least three more seasons. There's no way a couple episodes could wrap up the story Shadowhunters has been telling. And as much as we want to see a Malec wedding ASAP, the show needs more time to do the relationship justice.

11. Girl Meets World

The last episode may have been titled "Girl Meets Goodbye," but that doesn't mean it felt like a proper ending. When Disney Channel's top series wasn't renewed for a fourth season, kids and adults alike were shocked.

12. Timeless

Timeless may be getting a wrap-up movie, but it still doesn't feel like enough. There's really no way to put a sensible end to all the storylines without a couple of extra episodes. If it has to come to an end, a mini-season feels like the right way to do it.

13. The Last Man on Earth

The Last Man on Earth did get at least a few seasons, but that only gave us more time to become invested. Sometimes it feels like it's dangerous to fall in love with a television show. Who knows when it will be taken away?
