13 Things We Want to See on The Blacklist Season 4

at .

With The Blacklist Season 4 right around the corner, it seems about time we find out the truth concerning Red and Liz’s connection.

Of course, Red, Tom and the FBI team have to get Liz back first. And won’t that be a fantastic reunion to watch?

A brand new chapter of the series is about to begin, and we’ve got our list of things we really want to see. (Hint: More hats for Dembe, Aram finding love).

Check out our complete list, and let us know what you want to see on The Blacklist Season 4!

1. The truth behind Red and Liz’s relationship

Just why is Red so invested in Liz? There has always been something of a father/daughter vibe he’s given off, but The Blacklist Season 3 Episode 22 revealed Alexander Kirk is her father. Or is he? Maybe we need Maury Povich to be the one to reveal who really is Liz’s father. Either way, there’s still plenty of mystery surrounding Red’s interests in Liz, and that story needs to come out. We’re in the fourth season for crying out loud!

2. Red and Liz reuniting

Red learned that Liz isn’t actually dead, but she’s been captured by Alexander Kirk. Obviously, he’s going to try and rescue her, but when they do get a chance to reunite, there’s going to be explaining to do. Will it be a happy reunion? Or will their relationship be pushed even further apart?

3. How the FBI task force will handle Liz’s return

The team may have learned about Liz being alive in The Blacklist Season 3 finale, but that doesn’t mean her return will be with open arms. Clearly, her “death” hit hard for some of the task force members, and it will be interesting to see if it’s a strained relationship going forward. Can they work with her again and even trust her after such a big lie?

4. More Dembe

The quiet bodyguard of Red, we’ve gotten a few glimpses into his life, including how Red found him. But he’s such a fascinating character with so much more story to tell, and it would be great to see him get more of a story arc this season. He’s far more than a background character!

5. Dembe with new hats

Speaking of more Dembe, the guy’s hat game is definitely on point. He may not rock fedora’s like Red, but we all remember that fuzzy winter hat with the ear flaps, right? It’s time to see what other memorable caps Dembe could pull off.

6. A new character to join the team

It’s time for a new character to join the FBI task force, someone who will shake things up a bit. The crew have gotten rather comfortable together, so it would be nice to see someone play a wild card when it comes to getting things done. Maybe someone very charismatic. Or maybe a more grizzled and battle-worn character? Either way, some fresh blood would be great.

7. Tom finding more out about his mom

Tom didn’t reveal to Scottie that he is her son, so it’s time to see what kind of secrets he can unearth from her. There’s definitely some digging into the past, much like Liz, but could it be more dangerous than Tom can handle? After all, why would Red tell Tom not to reveal he is Scottie’s son? On top of that, more Famke Janssen doesn’t sound like a bad thing at all.

8. The return of Solomon

While it seems maybe more likely Solomon might reappear on The Blacklist spin-off, I’d really like to see him return to The Blacklist. He has to be thinking revenge against Tom after getting shot. Either way, he’s been an entertaining antagonist to watch, and seeing some closure with his character would be nice.

9. Aram finding love

I know he’s been pining for Samar, and maybe something will eventually come from that, but if not, why not someone else? Maybe a new agent joining the task force? Or someone he meets outside of work? Aram is definitely a likeable dude, and it’s about time he got a little lucky with the ladies. His moments of humor should definitely help him out in that arena.

10. An after-work hangout session

The FBI team is hard at work bringing down Blacklisters in addition to dealing with Red and his schemes. Wouldn’t it be nice to see them in a much more relaxed mode perhaps for a drink at a bar or an evening out? Maybe some karaoke together? Can you imagine what Ressler might sing? A fun little levity would be a nice touch for an episode or two.

11. The fate of Mr. Kaplan

She helped Liz fake her death and kept the truth from Red. While one of his closest compatriots, she also betrayed Red. Will he kill her? And if he keeps her alive, does he send her away never to be contacted again? There are going to be repercussions, but it’s anyone’s guess what Red might do.

12. An interesting and engaging antagonist

Alexander Kirk is sure to kick things off in a solid way, what with him kidnapping Liz and claiming to be her father. But will his character be around for a season-long arc? I’m eager to dive more into Liz’s past, but I’m also hoping that at least later on in the season we get a brand new villain/antagonist that proves to be entertaining, memorable, and interesting. Maybe someone who has a connection to someone other than Liz. Perhaps a foe from Harold’s past?

13. Clever quips and monologues from Red

James Spader is fantastic as Red, but his delivery of dialogue is entertaining. The guy could be spouting off about Nietzsche or the phone book, and it would be engrossing. He gets to sound intelligent, funny and menacing all at the same time. More please! His scenes are -- as always -- sure to be a gas.
