As Grey's Anatomy Season 15 comes to a close, we can't help but remember those stars who helped build this show into what it is today.
Grey's Anatomy has been a stepping stone for those new to the business, as well as a place for name brand actors to make an exciting appearance.
The list of guest stars is extensive, and thanks to Shonda we're lucky to enjoy limitless Grade-A acting.

Some of these actors you may recognize from your favorite childhood movies, top rated TV shows, or small indie films. Others may be unrecognizable due to the incredible makeup on the show.

1. Dylan Minnette
Dylan Minnette is such a baby during his Grey's Anatomy Season 4 Episode 5 debut. His character, Ryan, trick-or-treats for ears from Mark Sloan. He's now the star of the Netflix original series 13 Reasons Why.
2. Teddy Dunn
Known for his role on the classic Veronica Mars, Teddy Dunn made an appearance on Grey's Anatomy Season 2 Episode 20 as a hockey player who cuts his off his own finger in an attempt to play and impress the scouts.
3. Elizabeth Reaser
Alex Karev's patient turned love interest, Rebecca Pope was portrayed by Elizabeth Weaser. Rebecca was brought in after the major ferry crash that devastated the city on Grey's Anatomy Season 3 Episode 15. Perhaps you've seen Weaser in the Netflix original series The Haunting or way back when as Edward Cullen's mom Esme Cullens.
4. Hilarie Burton
Hilarie Burton came onto Grey's Anatomy Season 9 as Lauren Boswell a specialized surgeon who assists one of Arizona's cases and eventually becomes the woman Arizona cheats with. Hilarie is most notably known for her portrayal as Peyton Sawyer on One Tree Hill.
5. Martha Plimpton
Martha Plimpton from the TV show Raising Hope portrayed Pam Michaelson, a mother on Grey's Anatomy Season 6 Episode 1, whose son was suffering from pain unrelated to his original treatment. Her insurance wouldn't cover the treatment so she was sent away, but she fought hard for her son and was able to get to the root of his diagnosis.
6. Millie Bobby Brown
Millie Bobby Brown has gained recent traction with her breakout role as Eleven from Stranger Things. In her small guest role as Ruby on Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Episode 15, she saved her mom's life after being instructed over the phone by doctors how to perform a thoracotomy.
7. Sterling Knight
Maybe you recognize him from your childhood Disney Channel shows Sonny with a Chance, So Random, or the iconic Zac Efron movie 17 Again. Sterling Knight had a short guest appearance as Kip, one of the boys who dared their friend to lie in wet cement on Grey's Anatomy Season 4 Episode 16.
8. Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke isn't new to medical TV shows as you may know her as Elliot Reid from Scrubs, or even as Stella Zinman, a dermatologist on How I Met Your Mother. On Grey's Anatomy Season 9 Episode 19 Casey Hedges comes into the hospital with her son who ends up having a rare Kawasaki disease.
9. Sarah Paulson
Sarah Paulson, from American Horror Story, makes a quick guest appearance as a younger Ellis Grey, Meredith's mother on Grey's Anatomy Season 6 Episode 15.
10. Amy Acker
We finally met the other Shepherd sister and surprise surprise, hello Amy Acker, here to complete the family tree of goddesslike genes on Grey's Anatomy Season 15 Episode 21. Amy Acker is well known for her portrayal of Root on Person of Interest.
11. Abigail Breslin
Abigail Breslin, one of the most recognizable child actors, portrays Megan Clover, a girl who lacks the ability to feel pain on Grey's Anatomy Season 3 Episode 3. She's most known for her acting in some classic movies, Definitely Maybe, My Sister's Keeper, and Little Miss Sunshine.
12. Rachel Brosnahan
One of the most surprising finds! Rachel Brosnahan the protagonist of Amazon Prime's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel made an appearance on Grey's Anatomy Season 9 Episode 14 as Brian Weston, a trans boy who requests top surgery to remove his breasts.
13. Josh Radnor
The media went wild with this one! Josh Radnor, Ted from How I Met Your Mother, portrayed John, a potential love interest for Meredith Grey, on Grey's Anatomy Season 15 Episode 4. Fortunately for fans, their "romance" was fleeting.
14. Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato, Disney Channel child star turned singer, made her guest appearance on Grey's Anatomy Season 6 Episode 22. Hayley May, a patient who was believed to have been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia only to find out she actually isn't "crazy" and instead has a condition in which a little hole in her inner ear causes the sounds from the outside world and the inside of her body to be magnified.
15. Heather Matarazzo
Any Princess Diaries fans out there? Maybe you recognize her as Lily, Princess Mia's best friend. Heather Matarazzo played Joan Paulson, a mother on Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Episode 24 who was stuck under a collapsed bridge and taken to the hospital where she went into labor and had to give birth with minimal movements due to a neck injury.
16. Bernadette Peters
Those well-versed in the Broadway musical theater realm might have been shocked to see the legendary Bernadette Peters make her appearance on Grey's Anatomy Season 5 Episode 1 as Sarabeth Breyers, a woman involved in a car accident with her best friends on the way to a ball.
17. Mandy Moore
Mandy Moore played Mary Portman, a woman who had come to the hospital to receive a procedure to take out a colostomy bag. Instead, she was trapped in the hospital during the active shooting on Grey's Anatomy Season 6 Episode 24. Mandy Moore has made a name for herself through various movies and is currently a lead on the TV show drama This Is Us.
