John Silver (Luke Arnold) and Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) find themselves in quite a predicament in the Season 2 premiere of Black Sails airing January 24 at 9/8c on STARZ.

Captain Ned Low boards a ship that surrendered in an attempt to spare the crew's lives. However, once the cruel pirate learns of the ships precious cargo his blood-thirsty nature takes over.

Captain Ned Low (Tadhg Murphy) is a new breed of pirate; one whom easily resorts to violence to get his way.

Captain Flint informs his angry crew they have just one option. He explains that two men must lead an assault and then volunteers to be one of those men in exchange for a pardon.

John Silver was exposed as a thief and a liar, he joins forces with Flint as a last ditch effort to survive. Has he taken on more than he bargained for?

Flint's got a plan, but will he manage to regain his captaincy in the process?

Silver attempts a distraction, however, things don't go exactly according to plan.

Despite everything, Flint is a brilliant leader. Will his actions ultimately benefit his beloved Nassau and the life he's trying to make there?

This season, the series includes flashbacks to a more civilized time for Captain Flint.

In those flashbacks, we will meet Thomas Hamilton (played by Rupert Perry-Jones) and witness his first meeting with Flint. Hamilton is Miranda Barlow’s husband, who later becomes Flint's lover.

Eleanor Guthrie is a tough businesswoman. This season, she continues to run all illegal commerce on Nassau. However, her grip on power will face its challenges. How far is she willing to go to maintain control?

Jack Rackham's hit rock bottom. Currently an outcast, his determination and will could just elevate him to a position of power. Will he be able to do what it take to achieve this?

Anne Bonny remains loyal to Rackham, despite some lingering tension. Will the two finally confront what they really mean to each other?

Captain Vane seized control of the island’s fort last season, making him a much more powerful player. Will Vane be forced to take sides? Will he and Captain Low clash over Eleanor and how she conducts business on Nassau?

Abigail Ashe (played by Meganne Young) is the daughter of Lord Peter Ashe. What role does she play and what's her connection to the pirates that conduct business on the island?
