Will Lucious be set free?
That's one of the main questions we have going into Empire Season 2 Episode 1. Should he even be free? That's another question. There's no denying we have been craving more of the Lyon family since Empire Season 1 concluded a few months ago.
It sure looks like Cookie is having an easier time with her family. In the first picture gallery for Empire Season 2, it looks like she is being accepted in Lucious' absence. Will she want him back?
Anika pops back up, but we don't quite know how she fits into these new episodes. Will she still be getting down and dirty with Hakeem? We'll have to tune in for those answers.

1. Earned It - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
Cookie is getting way too comfortable thinking she's running Empire with her sons. Just look at her in that cage! She looks amazing. I wonder how many donkeys she talked the back legs off to get in that cage!
2. Star Power - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
We all know that Jamal has the best voice on the show, so we can't wait to hear what the new songs are and also all the details about why he's playing this gig. There are so many questions going into the new season and I can't wait to see how it all plays out!
3. #FreeLucious - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
It looks like the Lyon clan are far from ready to let Lucious' imprisonment stick. They want their cause to be heard and if that means singing it, then they'll do it. It is a bit shocking that Cookie is present. Is she doing it for her kids, or does she still hold a torch for her treacherous ex?
4. United - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
Who'd have thought that back when Empire kicked off, these two brothers would be able to sing on stage? Lucious LOVED putting a wedge between them, but it seems clear now that Cookie is doing her best to keep the family together.
5. Trouble Brewing - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
It's never going to be sunshine and roses for the Lyons, so either one of these two are up to something and it probably involves stealing control of the company from the other, but will it cost them their relationship?
6. Sharing Tips - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
Is Cookie sharing some tips about how to survive on the inside with Lucious? We can only imagine the way she'd be talking down to him with her witty one liners. Will Lucious actually be nice to her? Probably, at least until he gets out.
7. Taking A Stand - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
It's judgement day for Lucious as he is told whether he is a free man. For drama purposes, don't expect him to get out of the knick in the premiere. The other Lyons need to fall apart in their quest for the company first.
8. Cheers - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
Are the Lyons celebrating Lucious' freedom, or is there something else going on? I'm going to go with the latter. Someone has been given control of the company and I'm betting these two are looking right at the lucky winner.
9. Family Time - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
Cookie and Andre take a break from scheming and chat about all things New York. Did he come clean about Rhonda turning into a killer? Probably not quite yet, but we want that out in the open soon!
10. Friends on the Inside - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
Is Lucious popular in prison, or do his fellow inmates not take too kindly to famous people? Well, we don't want them getting on the wrong side of him, so hopefully they're all team Lucious!
11. Prison Glee Club? - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
Is Lucious acting like a jukebox? It sure looks that way. The inmates must get pretty bored, so playing some live shows on the inside will be sure to keep his head in the game for when he inevitably gets out.
12. Good Terms? - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
Anike sure looks happy. Is she still hitting bone town with her former son in law? Probably, but Cookie would love to "Bye Felicia," her again and smack her down. Will she have a reason to in the premiere?
13. We Want In - Empire Season 2 Episode 1
It's only natural that Andre would want a claim to the company, but Jamal is probably playing coy at this stage about his plans, but will Rhonda try to lay down the law? Yes, but she'll be quickly ushered to the side.
