iZombie: Refresh Your Brains Before the Season Premiere!

After four incredible seasons of being of the most underrated series on The CW, iZombie is coming to an end.

Liv and the rest of the z-squad return tonight with iZombie Season 5 Episode 1. However, iZombie Season 4 was an eventful season that ended on a high note.

Seattle was quarantined by the government. The fourth season took on a political and social tone with a zombie military, anti-zombie militia, religious fanaticism, and extreme social activists and anarchists.

The season brought about an unusual development in Ravi, set friends and old flames against one another, and it reunited couples too.

Many of the Z-gang found themselves in leadership roles closing out the season, and there was a plan to come together to improve human and zombie relations.

Also, Ravi made his first succesful breakthrough with a zombie cure.

1. Liv Is Renegade

After Mama Leone, the previous Renegade was executed by Chase, Liv took over the underground zombie smuggling operation. By the end of the season, Liv survived a mandated execution and was able to continue smuggling zombies in and out of New Seattle with Major and Peyton's blessing and a new hope that zombies and humans to coexist together.

2. New Seattle Remains Quarantined

Despite overthrowing Chase and attempting to get the city under into some semblance of order, Seattle is still quarantined from the rest of the country by government order, and no one is technically allowed in or out of the city. It means a series of shortages across the board as Seattle is now on its own.

3. Brain Shortage

Despite the deal Major struck with Blaine, there is still a brain shortage in Seattle. The rations are running out, and many of the zombies are going hungry with no real fix to rectify the situation.

4. Boyfriend Curse Continues

Major rescued Liv before she was beheaded, but Chase killed Levon right in front of her eyes. Levon was Mama Leone's second and later on Liv's in addition to being her boyfriend. Liv's terrible luck with boyfriends being murdered continues.

5. Chase's Reign is Over

Chase devolved into a maniacal dictator throughout iZombie Season 4, and he slipped further and further into the dark side before establishing himself as a true villain. For Liv, justice was served when she beheaded Chase by using the guillotine he used to publicly execute zombies and others who defied him.

6. Major is the New Head of Fillmore Graves

Major led the rescue mission to save Liv, and he was the final nail in the coffin to take over Fillmore Graves. Peacekeepers are still a necessity in New Seattle, and Major took his place as leader of the zombie militia hoping to instill a fairer version of law and order.

7. Peyton is the Acting Mayor

The real mayor was killed on television, so Peyton is now the acting mayor of New Seattle as of the season finale. It leaves her and many of the others in key positions heading into the final season.

8. Ravi's Zombie Tendencies

Ravi is in between human and zombie. His vaccination was a success and kept him from becoming a full-blown zombie, but he has monthly side effects in the form of craving and ingesting brains for roughly a week. It's the best of both worlds.

9. Isobel is Immune

One of Liv/ Renegade's clients who was in desperate need of a zombie scratch was immune to it. Isobel became a fixture of the fourth season as Ravi studied why she was immune to the scratch and they took care of her.

10. Isobel's Brain Is the Secret to the Zombie Cure

Unfortunately, Isobel's health continued to decline as the season progressed, and in the most devastating development of the season, she lost her battle with Freylich's Syndrome. In her wake, Ravi was able to use her brain to create an actual zombie cure.

11. Dale is Cured!

Ravi was able to make one zombie cure. Even though Liv has been clamoring for it for seasons, she gave up her shot at being human again so that Dale could be human and she and Clive could be together.

12. Bozzineaux Got Married!

After a season of being on again and off again and both of them finding partners elsewhere but not being happy, Dale and Clive reunited. With Dale being cured, they could finally get married and plan for the future they wanted since they are only happy when they are together.

13. Clavi Bromance in Full Effect

Ravi and Clive have developed a great friendship over the series, but season four mostly had Major on the outs with all of his friends, so Clive and Ravi grew closer than ever. One of them even served as the other's best man.

14. Blaine's New Deal

Major and Blaine reached an agreement by the end of the season. As the new leader of Fillmore Graves, Major had to ensure the safety of humans and zombies alike in New Seattle, and the biggest way to do that was by using Blaine's illegal activities to provide brains for zombies. Blaine agreed to provide the brains and Major wouldn't hold him accountable for his actions.

15. The Major/Liv 'Ship is At a Standstill

Major and Liv drifted apart during the season and found themselves on opposite sides of zombie issues. They were able to work together by the end of the season, and they reached a bit of a truce, but Liv still blamed and resented Major for a lot, and they aren't exactly in the happiest of places.

16. Ravi and Peyton Are Official

Peyton and Ravi 'shippers are rejoicing. The pair reunited as a couple during the season, and Ravi even met her parents. They are officially dating each other and exchanging "I love you's," and they were still in a great place in their relationship at the end of the season.

17. Angus and His Flock Are Dead

Blaine's father spent a great deal of the season riling zombies up and stirring anti-human sentiment in the religious faction of New Seattle. By the end of the season, he was brutally killed and so were most of his flock, but there's a good chance the anti-human sentiment may linger.
