Some Pearson moments were just so beautiful; we couldn't help but cry tears of joy. Other moments were so devastating that they had us bawling our eyes out for weeks.

Now let's grab a box of tissues, sit back and reflect on the Pearson family moments that brought out an abundance of waterworks. Don't forget to watch This Is Us online until its big return!

1. Jack's Death - "Super Bowl Sunday"

We knew the patriarch of the Pearson family was going to leave his family too soon, but we could never prepare for this episode. After much-dreaded anticipation, Super Bowl Sunday shared with audiences how exactly Jack died. In a shocking twist, Jack survives the fire in the Pearson house. He saves his wife, his kids and Kate's dog. Jack Pearson never looked more like a superhero then at this moment. It's made even more devastating when Jack dies just a couple hours later at the hospital. Almost as soon as Rebecca steps out of the room, Jack suffers a heart attack due to smoke inhalation. When the doctors give Rebecca the news, she's in denial until she sees Jack's lifeless body. She breaks down in tears, and we break down with her. Jack Pearson was too good for this world and deserved better.

2. Rebecca Loses the Third Baby - "Pilot"

When a show starts off with an event as devastating as this, you know you are in for an emotional journey. Audiences couldn't help falling in love with Jack and Rebecca right away, and when Rebecca goes into labor, we're hopeful for a happy ending for this couple. Yet, it's clear that isn't going to be the case when Rebecca's delivery doesn't go according to plan. Dr. K reveals to Jack that two babies were delivered successfully, but one was stillborn. It's a heartbreaking moment for the couple, but Dr. K's lemonade speech ends up turning tears of sadness to tears of joy. Jack and Rebecca took Dr. K's words to heart and turned the sourest lemon into something resembling lemonade by adopting Randall. And thus the adventures of The Big Three began.

3. Kate Let's It All Out - "Three Sentences "

Kate's journey in the first season was a hard one to watch but also a very relatable one for many. She grew up around perfection. She struggled with her weight for most of her life, but the one person that always helped her with her self-confidence was her father. When she lost him, her problems with weight gain became worse, and any confidence she once had was gone. But Kate is always so composed and strong, never letting the hurt and despair she feels on the inside come out. That is until she goes to a weight loss camp. In a class where the instructor encourages the students to let it all out, Kate does just that. She remembers the pain of being bullied as a kid for her weight and how hard it was losing her father. Kate finally breaks down and lets out a scream filled with so much pain and heartache; you can't help but feel for her.

4. Kevin's Meltdown on the Football Field - "Number One "

Kevin's drug problem had gotten really bad at this point. Despite his issues back home, he decides to return to his high school where he is receiving an award. He visits the football field he used to rule as a teenager. It's at this moment he relives the day his football dreams came to an end after a brutal knee injury. Shortly after he loses his dad, who he had some problems with because he felt like he was the kid to whom nobody ever paid attention. He recalls all the times life gave him another chance, and he still screwed up. Before this scene, Kevin's problems never seemed as significant as his siblings, but it's at this moment your heart breaks for Kevin, realizing just how much pain he's been in for years. Even though Kevin never felt as close to Jack as his siblings, it's at this moment we realize they are oh, so similar.

5. Deja Says Goodbye - "Number Three"

In Season 2, Deja became a major part of Randall and Beth's lives. Abused by previous foster fathers, it wasn't easy for Randall to get Deja to open up to him. As time moved on and Randall told so many corny jokes, he became more like a father to her. And Randall started to realize what it was like to be his parents. Despite not being biologically related to Deja, he loved her as much as he loved his other daughters just like Jack and Rebecca loved him. It looked like Deja would become a permanent member of the Pearson family until her mom returned and Deja decided to move back in with her. Before she left, she said a final goodbye (at least that's what we thought at the time). Deja finally let Randall hug her before driving away with her mother. And when Randall lets out one single tear as Deja leaves, we can't help but cry with him.

6. Jack and Rebecca's Argument - "Moonshadow"

Jack and Rebecca could very well be one of the best couples in TV history. That doesn't mean they didn't have their problems though. Jack grew up with an alcoholic father and became an alcoholic himself. In this episode, Jack's alcoholism comes to a head. A drunken Jack beats up Rebecca's bandmate and ex-boyfriend, Ben, right before their show, leaving Rebecca outraged. The two have an explosive fight over Rebecca's career, Jack's alcoholism, and the lingering issues that have been building up over the years. It's heartbreaking to watch, but the next day he reminds the world why no man is greater than Jack Pearson when he lists all the things he loves about Rebecca and tells her she is his one great love story and his big break. It left everyone asking, why can't Jack Pearson be real?

7. The Therapy Session - "The Fifth Wheel"

The family therapy session was long overdue for the Pearson clan. Kevin had finally reached rock bottom after receiving a DUI, and his family was asked to come together and help him recover. When Kevin accuses Rebecca of loving her other kids more, things take a turn for the worst. Randall and Kevin argue while a flustered Kate, who just wants her family to get along, cries in the corner. But once again it's Mandy Moore who steals the scene when she breakdowns in tears and says she doesn't love Randall more he was just easier and didn't abandon her when Jack died. This heartwrenching scene was definitely needed to help mend the broken pieces of the Pearson family, but it still managed to hurt us all. Luckily, the Pearson kids manage to make up with each other and hug it out in the great outdoors turning sad tears into happy ones.

8. Jack Tells Kate He's an Alcoholic - "A Father's Advice: Manny-Splendered Thing Part 2"

All of the flashbacks in this episode focused on Jack confronting his alcoholism and trying to get his life back on track. It was already difficult enough to watch this good man face his demons, but when he had to tell his daughter about his problem, our hearts couldn't help but melt. Jack and Kate's relationship was always beautiful to watch. He was her superman. So when he tells her he is an alcoholic, she's devastated. The man she thought was perfect wasn't. However, Kate knew it was time for her to be there for Jack. She comforts Jack and places her hands on his cheeks just like he's done to her so many times. The relationship between father and daughter has never been more tear-jerking until this moment.

9. William's Death - "Memphis "

This was the first This Is Us episode that had viewers crying from start to finish. It was also the episode when William said goodbye. The first stop on their road trip occurs when Randall and William stop at a tree where Jack's ashes were spread. William takes this moment to thank Jack for raising their son to be a good man. Cue the tears. The two go on to have the perfect day. The next day, however, takes a tragic turn when Randall finds William on the floor. They spend their final day together at the hospital where William gives Randall some parting words of wisdom and says he isn't sad because he got to spend the first and last moments of his life with the person he loves most. Their last moment together occurs when Randall puts his hands on William's cheeks, and they breathe together, just like he did with Jack. No wonder these two actors won Emmys for this episode! Beautifully tragic.

10. Beth Receives a Postcard - "What Now?"

Beth and William's relationship was a fun one to watch. They got off to a rocky start. Beth didn't exactly trust this random stranger who claimed to be her husband's biological father. But eventually, she got over this distrust, and the two formed a close friendship. They even got high together one day while Randall was away. Yet, when William dies in Memphis, Beth is devastated. Randall and their daughters got to say goodbye to William, and she didn't get the chance. Beth's toast to William during his "fun-eral" is particularly emotional because it is there when the audience realizes how much Beth truly cared for him. The true tear-jerker moment comes when Beth receives a postcard from William where he calls her the daughter he never had. Beth's reaction says it all.

11. Father and Son Push Ups - "The Trip"

It's been said before but it deserves to be said again, Jack Pearson is an incredible father, and this moment proved it. It's not easy being an adopted child or adoptive parents. Young Randall is searching for his biological father, wanting a black male role model to look up to. Although Jack is a little hurt by this, he wants to support his son. Jack and Rebecca decided to enroll him in a martial arts class taught by a black dojo. The dojo teaches Randall about the importance of his community which includes both his fellow black Americans and his parents. The dojo then has Jack do push-ups with Randall on his back as a symbol of him carrying his son through life and holding him up no matter what comes his way. The sentiment is truly beautiful, and you can't help but shed a tear when watching this moment between father and son.

12. Dr. K's Visit to His Wife's Graveyard - "The Big Day"

Dr. K isn't seen a lot on the show, but when he is, he knows how to pack an emotional punch. Before this episode, we didn't know a lot about Dr. K besides what he told Jack when delivered the triplets. It's in The Big Day where we learn what kind of state of mind Dr. K is in before the delivery. We knew Dr. K was a widow, but we didn't realize how hard it was for him to come to terms with that. His house was partly a shrine to her and a prison where he can never escape his grief. After his kids show concern, Dr. K visits his wife's grave and breaks down, wondering if it is even worth it to keep on living without her. Fortunately, he gets a page while there to deliver triplets. He meets Rebecca and Jack and decides it is worth it to keep on living. And we thought it was just the Pearsons who could make us cry.

13. Kevin's Painting - "The Game Plan"

Kevin Pearson sure knows how to give a speech! Before this Kevin was nothing more than abs and laughs, leaving the more emotional scenes to the other characters. So it seems pretty natural for Kevin to screw up and send his nieces away with an existential crisis after they ask him about death and the afterlife. However, after a talk with William who encourages him to give it another go, we see a much more caring and compassionate side of Kevin we hadn't seen yet. Kevin uses one of his paintings as a way to explain life and death to the girls. He goes on to say that when someone dies, they're still intertwined with everyone just like the lines in the painting. He caps off his monologue in a meta but beautiful way by saying that life isn't about you, me, or them. It's just us. Oh, Kevin Pearson, who knew you were so wise?

14. Jack and Rebecca's 'What If?' Vow Renewal - "The Wedding"

People always cry at weddings, especially if the wedding could never actually happen. Throughout this episode, we see snippets of an elderly Jack and Rebecca renewing their vows at the Pearson family cabin. The audience later learns that it's actually a dream Kate has been having in anticipation of her own wedding. She always dreamed of having Jack walk her down the aisle and dance with her, and although she knows that can't happen, she can't seem to let that dream go. In a conversation with her mom, Kate realizes that Toby wasn't in this dream and knows that for her to move on with Toby, she has to let go of Jack just a little. Before the wedding, Kate finally scatters Jack's remaining ashes. Although it was nice to see Kate take a big leap and grow, it was also so sad to see what could have been for the Pearson family if Jack was still around.

15. Kate's Miscarriage - "Number Two"

Kate and Toby's fans rejoiced when they learned Kate was pregnant. Unfortunately, their happiness about her pregnancy was short-lived after Kate had a miscarriage. All is well at first until Kate feels a pain in her stomach and falls to the ground in her bathroom. The two process their grief very differently as they spend most of the episode apart. Tensions come to a head when they come together, and Kate yells at Toby and tells him he can't tell her how to feel because it happened to her and not him. After Toby storms out, things are looking bleak for the couple. But, Rebecca arrives and provides a shimmer of hope. She comforts her daughter and tells Kate about what she went through when she lost the third triplet. Rebecca's advice leads to Kate apologizing to Toby and the two console each other before promising to try again. This episode was too real!

16. Randall's Meltdown - "Jack Pearson's Son"

Randall has worked very hard to be perfect. Randall's perfection caused a lot of tension between him and Kevin. Kevin has always resented him for getting the most attention from his parents, and Randall just wanted Kevin to show him some love and compassion. Their relationship reaches a pinnacle point after Randall has a full-blown panic attack. Having to deal with William's cancer, his daughter and issues at work, Randall has finally reached his breaking point. He calls Kevin who is just about to make his big stage debut and tells him he can't make it to his play. Kevin can tell there is something wrong with his brother. For the first time in their relationship, Kevin decides helping his brother is more important than his career. He runs to Randall's office and holds him in his arms as Randall (and the entire This Is Us audience) breaks down in tears.

17. Jack's Funeral - "The Car "

There has never been more ugly crying for an episode of TV until The Car as caused by back and forth between Jack's funeral and the gifts he had given his family throughout his life. There are a bunch of little moments throughout that will leave you in tears, but one of the most beautiful is Rebecca's conversation with Dr. K. He reminds her that she is a lot tougher than she realizes and encourages her to learn from Jack. She does that when she takes her kids to the same tree that Jack took Rebecca to when she had a cancer scare. She tells Kevin and Randall that neither of them has to take Jack's place, an issue the two have been fighting about since his death. Rebecca also tells Kate that Jack's death is not her fault. After they spread his ashes at the tree, Rebecca tells Jack that the Pearsons are going to be okay. This Is Us fans are still recovering.
