Star may be canceled, but series creator, Lee Daniels has confirmed he is "fighting" to bring the show back to the air.
The creator turned to Instagram on Tuesday night with a clip from the former Fox drama series.

“Fighting guys! Will know this week… or top of next!” he wrote alongside the video. “I’m NOT letting them STOP the CULTURE.. SORRY!!”
While Daniels did not shed light on a potential home for the series, Deadline has revealed that the show has been shopped to a variety of destinations.
These include BET and OWN, but the website notes that a pickup for the series is considered a long shot.
It's notoriously difficult to bring a canceled show back from the dead, but it has happened on multiple occasions.

“To our die hard Star fans, please know this was not of my doing. Our cast and crew are heartbroken,” Daniels shared with fans after Fox swung the ax.
Star Season 3 averaged 3.5 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 based on live + same day metrics.
That meant the show was Fox's third highest-rated drama series.
Fox recently became an independent broadcaster following the Disney-Fox takeover, meaning that the new network had to make new deals with studios to bring shows back for additional seasons.

It didn't help matters that the rejigged network is giving up Fridays to WWE SmackDown for the entirety of the 2019-20 TV season.
