Rutina Wesley

Rutina Wesley was born in Las Vegas. She attended the University of Evansville, studying Theatre Performance. Afterwards, she attended famous Julliard School Drama Division in NYC, where she first met Nelson Ellis, who now plays her cousin, Lafayette, on True Blood. She is married to actor, Jacob Fishel.
In 2007, Rutina got her first film debut as Raya Green in How She Moves. She has also made appearances on Numb3rs and The Cleveland Show.
In 2008, Wesley received her first starring role as Tara on True Blood.
