Ryan's father makes his big return to Seattle after a long time away, and everyone is surprised by his out of the blue return.

He is described as "sharp-witted, very perceptive and wickedly smart," and is apparently so charismatic that he resolve any problems that may arise for himself.

He hasn't always been on the right side of the law, which really affects him in the eyes of his son.

The character sounds like a perfect addition to the ABC series, and he will surely help peel the layers back on his son.
