Mindy decides she is going to get Cliff back, but Danny wants her to come with him to visit his father. Danny agrees to take her to the airport but when Mindy dozes off, she wakes up outside a home in the desert. Danny meets his half sister who is also named Danny. Danny and Mindy agree to stay for some dinner before Mindy leaves Danny behind to head to the airport.
Back in New York Peter returns to the office in a sour mood from his trip to Los Angeles. He gets locked in the office bathroom with Morgan. The two hear a heart broken Cliff through the air vent and take him out for a night on the town when they finally get out of their jam. They feel sorry for Cliff until they realize it was he who broke things off with Mindy.
While on her way to the airport, Mindy gets a call from Danny who is lost in the desert. She turns around and comes to the rescue, but when Danny is less than gracious, she gives him a piece of her mind. The stumble onto a military base and are picked up by Danny's dad after being questioned. On the flight home Danny helps Mindy write her apology to Cliff. Mindy tells Danny she actually think he is great. When she gets up to get him a drink the plane hit turbulence and Danny is scared. He looks to Mindy's vacant seat then walks to the back of the plane where she is and kisses her.
