Cade shows up and sends Stefan on a mission, shocking Damon, who is also given a mission. Damon's mission was to kill Caroline or 100 people. Damon worries that this will change things and tries to find a loophole.
He and Caroline conclude that getting the cure for Cade would be a good idea to kill him, but they had no idea Bonnie and Enzo were on their way to use it.
Bonnie invited Enzo in and she got a phone call saying they needed the cure. She was upset, but knew she had to do it. Stefan found the realtor of the house and it was signed over to him, taking Enzo out of the house.
Damon tried to stop Stefan, but he was intent on killing Elena. Just as Bonnie gets the cure, she is shocked to find Stefan has murdered Enzo, so she stabs him with the cure, before screaming. It looks like her magic returned.
Caroline and Matt argued about how safe Mystic Falls was, but Caroline seemed to think it was always the same, but their parents kept the darkness away from them, but Matt claimed that Caroline was the darkness these days. This upset her.
