If all goes to plan, the finale would be penned by series co-creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.

The duo is still hard at work on Season 4 of the comedy series which has been split into two parts.

The first half will bow Friday, May 30 and will consist of six episodes. A premiere date for the second half will be announced at a later date.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt launched on Netflix in 2015 and marked the internet-based network's first foray into ongoing comedy series.

It was initially supposed to air on NBC after landing a series order, but things changed, and it moved to Netflix with a two-season order.

The show focuses on the life of Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper), who spent much of her life inside an underground bunker after a Reverend claimed the end of the world had come.

The show also stars Tituss Burgess, Carol Kane, and Jane Krakowski.

The series has remained just as fresh and original in its later seasons, but it makes sense to bring the show to a close before it starts to repeat itself.

What are your thoughts on it?

Is it time to end the series, or are there many more stores left to tell?
