The X-Files Teaser: The Mystery Begins!

We've already seen the glimpse of Mulder and Scully searching with their flashlights for...something.

What's really surprising about the first official teaser for The X-Files miniseries, which Fox aired during Wayward Pines tonight, is how upset you can get when you see boots stomping down on Mulder's iconic "I Want to Believe" poster.

There is also a plane crash with an army of some sort creeping onward toward the camera and an additional shot of another fellow dragging two bodies away. The believer in me wants to think those bodies are aliens. Who doesn't after all these years?!

It's pretty clear someone or something is invading and it's going to be up to our remarkable duo to get to the bottom of it – with the help of many of their familiar friends and frenemies. We absolutely cannot wait.

The X-Files premieres on Fox Sunday, January 24, 2016.
