Westworld Teaser: Sexbots and Killbots Await on New HBO Series

at .  Updated at .

You may be in love with Humans, but in 1973, the movie version of Michael Crichton's Westworld was released, featuring a theme park where humans could go to have their wishes fulfilled with sexbots and killbots. Now HBO is taking a stab at it, and they've just released the first teaser trailer.

Starring Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden and Thandie Newton, the "one-hour drama series is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin."

What was explored in the film was so fleeting and brief, and it's my understand that the producers of Westworld hope to examine it in details Michael Crichton could have only dreamed of at the time. Amazingly, he spoke of computer viruses as being the cause of the robots going mad in the film, something that was only happening for the first time as the movie was being filmed.

The possibilities with Westworld are endless. The story, the cast...it's a dream. And that's even part of the dialogue! Take a look at the trailer now and let us know what you think.

HBO Quotes

Every successful business is full of people who spent money nurturing unremarkable talent.

Eric: Why are you here then?
Harper: Well, it's not a very political answer, but I think mediocrity is too well hidden by parents who hire private tutors. I am here on my own.
