Liv walks around Vegas and rips up the letter she wrote to Will. She meets Will at a bar, where she asks for honesty, and he details some of his and Cara’s relationship.
After seeing Cara’s face at the bar, Liv leaves and goes to another club, where she drinks and sees Cara’s face again. Liv then talks to whom she believes is a priest and admits to killing Cara before he talks her into seeing it as an accident. It’s then revealed she was talking to herself.
Liv finds Will later that night and tells him it’s time to go home.
Back in New York, Bonnie has Will invite Liv to a celebration at the hotel for Cara, where Bonnie gives a toast. Will insists they leave after he finds out that the police are now investigating Cara’s death as a murder.
Will tells Liv he didn’t kill Cara, and she tells him they have to cover their tracks so the police can’t find any connection between him and Cara. Will then tells Liv that he gave Cara a key to their apartment.
Liv checks Cara’s locker at the gym, but it’s empty, while Will erases folders and messages from Cara’s computer at the hotel.
Will and Live visit Cara’s home, where Garth lets them inside. With the boys in the kitchen, Liv searches Cara’s room and closet before Garth catches her. She explains to him that she is returning the clothes Cara loaned her in Yosemite.
Detectives Rawlins and Wiseman stop Will and Liv on the street and ask them to come to the station for some questions. While talking with the detectives, both Liv and Will give similar answers.
When Rawlins asks Will about the coincidence of them all being at the same place, Will explains that Cara was obsessed with keeping up with others.
Liv and Ash drink together on the roof and share a kiss before Liv leaves abruptly.
Rawlins and Wiseman talk to Bonnie, who tells them Cara often went to the gym daily.
While reviewing the gym footage and retrieving Cara’s belongings, they see Liv on video following Cara into the locker room one evening.
Liv is surprised to see her mother at her front door.
The detectives arrest Garth for Cara’s murder.
